An ER Doctor’s Packing List: Inside the TrufaMED Travel Kits

An ER Doctor’s Packing List: Inside the TrufaMED Travel Kits

When something goes wrong away from home, it is rarely dramatic. A headache on the second day of a trip. A sunburn that shows up at dinner. A child running warm at 11 at night in a hotel room. These are the moments people walk into our urgent care for, and most of them can be handled in two minutes if the right item is already in your bag.

That is the idea behind the TrufaMED Kits: five compact medical kits in a refillable tan case, each one packed the way an emergency physician would pack it.

Built by the doctor who sees what people forget

Dr. Shane Naidoo, TrufaMED’s Medical Director, is board-certified in emergency medicine and spent years in high-volume emergency departments before leading our Surfside clinic. He chose every item in every kit based on what patients actually reach for when a trip goes sideways: fever and pain relief, allergy medication, stomach remedies, wound care, sun care, motion sickness tablets, and electrolytes. Every item is an FDA-approved over-the-counter medication or supply, so nothing in the kit needs a prescription.

The exact contents vary by edition and are printed on every kit’s card.

Five editions, one refillable case

Seven tan TrufaMED medical kit bags stacked in a pyramid on a boat deck, each with a product hang tag

Snowbird Arrival Kit. For the season’s first week in Florida: antihistamines, melatonin, antacids, sunscreen, and the small things a new climate asks for.

Sun + Sand Kit. Built for beach days: sunscreen, aloe, hydrocortisone, bite relief, blister pads, and electrolytes.

Travel Kit. Sized for carry-ons and road trips, with motion sickness tablets, melatonin, wound care, and medical tape with gauze.

Hotel Welcome Kit. Made for guest rooms and front desks, from pain relief and stomach remedies to a stain remover wipe. Hotels and residential buildings can stock it in volume through our partners program.

Concierge Welcome Kit. Reserved for TrufaMED concierge members and included with membership as part of the welcome.

Price, timing, and how to get one

Each retail edition is $24, and the case is meant to be kept: when you run low, restock the items you use most. Kits are ready for customers on August 20. You can pre-order now to reserve yours, then purchase and pick up at our clinic at 9445 Harding Ave in Surfside. Pre-ordering holds your kit until you come in.

A kit handles the small things. When symptoms persist or worsen, the clinic behind the kit is open seven days a week, with on-site X-ray, lab testing, ultrasound, telehealth, and house calls across Miami-Dade.
