Same-visit imaging

Walk in, get imaged, leave with answers

Digital X-ray is a fast, non-invasive way to see inside the body, and at TrufaMED a board-certified physician reads your images on-site during the same visit. No hospital, no referral, no long wait for a separate radiology report. Most visits are complete in 20 to 30 minutes.

Our in-house suite uses digital radiography, which captures crisp, high-resolution images in seconds at a much lower radiation dose than legacy film systems. Because your physician interprets the images live, you leave with a diagnosis and a treatment plan, not just a referral. When it helps, the same physician can combine X-ray with on-site ultrasound and lab testing in one visit, all under a Joint Commission-accredited urgent care roof.

What we image

What digital X-ray helps us diagnose

From sports injuries to immigration physicals, our digital radiography suite covers the full range of urgent imaging needs.

Fractures and breaks

Suspected fractures in the arms, hands, wrists, ankles, feet, and ribs, diagnosed and treated in the same visit so you can start care right away.

Chest and respiratory

Chest imaging to evaluate pneumonia, bronchitis, pleural effusion, and other respiratory concerns, with your physician reading the film on the spot.

Joint and soft-tissue injuries

Sports injuries, dislocations, and joint assessments of the shoulders, knees, hips, and extremities, common reasons people walk in after a fall or a game.

Abdominal imaging

Abdominal X-ray to help identify a bowel obstruction, a kidney stone, or an ingested foreign body, useful when acute abdominal pain needs a fast answer.

Spine and back

Imaging for vertebral fractures, alignment, scoliosis assessment, and degenerative disc evaluation across the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

Sinus and nasal

Imaging for chronic sinusitis, facial pain, and a suspected nasal or sinus fracture, so a stubborn sinus problem gets a clear look.

Immigration and employment

Chest X-rays for immigration physicals (USCIS Form I-693), employment clearances, and school enrollment, with documentation provided.

Pre-surgical evaluation

Same-day imaging and reports for surgical consultations, so a surgeon has the pre-operative views needed to plan a procedure.

The digital advantage

Instant images, on-site interpretation, lower dose

Digital radiography is faster, clearer, and safer than legacy film, and pairing it with a physician who reads it live is what turns a scan into an answer.

Results in minutes

Images appear on screen within seconds of capture. Your physician reviews and interprets them during the visit, so there is no waiting days for an outside radiologist’s report.

Up to 80 percent less radiation

Digital sensors replace film and require far less radiation, up to 80 percent less than conventional X-ray, while producing clearer diagnostic images. Safe for patients of all ages, including children and seniors.

Read by a physician, on-site

A board-certified physician interprets your images in the room and explains the findings in plain language. The reading is part of the visit, not a separate appointment somewhere else.

Full-body range

Chest, spine, extremities, abdomen, pelvis, and sinuses. The complete diagnostic range needed for urgent and preventive care, all in one suite.

Treatment the same visit

Because results are read on-site, your physician can splint, prescribe, refer, or begin treatment immediately. You leave with a plan, not a list of next steps elsewhere.

One transparent bill

No surprise radiology charges and no separate interpretation fee billed weeks later. Self-pay pricing is clear up front, and we verify insurance coverage on the spot.

How a visit works

From the front desk to your diagnosis

The whole process usually takes 20 to 30 minutes. No appointment, no referral, no hospital wait.

Walk in

Come to our Surfside clinic during operating hours. The front desk registers you quickly and verifies your insurance coverage on the spot.

See the physician

A board-certified physician reviews your concern, orders the right imaging study, and addresses any contraindications before imaging begins.

Get imaged

Our digital system captures high-resolution images in seconds. The process is painless and quick. You may be asked to remove jewelry or metal near the area.

Leave with answers

Your physician reviews the images on screen, explains the findings in plain language, and starts treatment the same visit. You leave with a diagnosis.

Transparent pricing

Clear imaging prices, no surprise bills

Self-pay pricing is set up front and includes the physician’s on-site reading. Most major insurance plans are accepted, and we verify your coverage before imaging.

Single region
From $120 / region

One body area imaged and read the same visit by a board-certified physician. No separate radiology bill.

Multi-region
$195

Two or more areas imaged during the same visit, with all readings included. A practical option when more than one area needs a look.

With insurance
Co-pay only

Most major plans accepted. With insurance you pay only your plan’s applicable co-pay or deductible. We check coverage on the spot.

Pricing covers the imaging and the on-site physician interpretation. There are no hidden fees and no separate radiology billing. See our insurance information for accepted plans.

About walk-in X-ray

Walk-in X-ray for Miami Beach and beyond

For a sprain, a suspected fracture, a nagging cough, or back pain, getting imaging fast matters. A hospital emergency department can mean hours of waiting and a large bill for a problem that does not need emergency resources. A referral to an outside imaging center adds another appointment and another wait for the report. TrufaMED removes those steps: walk in, see a physician, get imaged, and leave with a diagnosis.

Who walk-in X-ray is for

It suits anyone with a non-life-threatening injury or symptom that needs a clear answer: a fall at home, a sports injury, a child who may have a fracture, chest or respiratory symptoms, persistent back or joint pain, or a sinus problem. It is also for people who need documented chest imaging for an immigration physical, an employer, or school enrollment.

Serving the barrier islands and the mainland

Our clinic at 9445 Harding Avenue in Surfside is minutes from Bal Harbour and easily reached from Miami Beach across the causeways. We regularly image walk-in patients from Surfside, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, Sunny Isles Beach, Aventura, and across Miami Beach, including those who first arrive for urgent care in Miami Beach.

When the X-ray is part of a larger visit

Imaging is often one piece of the picture. Because TrufaMED is a full urgent care, your physician can combine X-ray with on-site ultrasound, in-house labs, and rapid testing in a single visit. That integrated approach, rather than sending you to three separate facilities, is one of the clearest advantages over a standalone imaging center. Explore our testing services and urgent care.

Who reads your images

A board-certified physician leads every shift

At TrufaMED, your X-ray is read on-site by a board-certified physician, not sent off to an outside radiologist. Our clinical team is led by a surgeon and an emergency physician.

Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Uri Gedalia, MD, FACS
Board-Certified General Surgeon · Fellow, American College of Surgeons

Dr. Gedalia earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University and completed his surgical residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York. His surgical background means imaging findings are read by a physician who treats the injuries behind them, from fractures to abdominal complaints.

Medical Director
Dr. Shane D. Naidoo, MD
Board-Certified Emergency Medicine · AHA Heart Saver Hero

Dr. Naidoo brings extensive adult and pediatric emergency, trauma, and critical-care experience from high-volume emergency departments across the East Coast. His training means urgent imaging is read by a physician who has handled the most acute situations with calm, decisive judgment.

This physician-first approach is why TrufaMED carries Joint Commission accreditation, a distinction held by only eight urgent care centers in the United States. The same standard that governs accredited hospital radiology departments governs our imaging suite.

Meet the clinical team

Digital X-ray, answered

What patients across Miami Beach, Bal Harbour, and Surfside ask before they walk in for imaging.

Do I need an appointment or referral for a walk-in X-ray?

No. No appointment and no referral are required. Walk in during operating hours (Monday to Friday 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM to 11 PM, Sunday 12 PM to 8 PM, seven days a week) and our team takes care of the rest. A board-certified physician assesses your concern, orders the appropriate imaging study, and interprets the results during the same visit.

What body parts can be X-rayed at TrufaMED?

Our digital X-ray suite images all common anatomical regions: the chest, spine (cervical, thoracic, lumbar), upper extremities (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, fingers), lower extremities (hip, knee, ankle, foot, toes), abdomen, pelvis, and the sinus and nasal regions. If you have a specific imaging need, call us at (305) 537-6396 to confirm availability.

How much does a digital X-ray cost?

Self-pay pricing starts from $120 per region for a single body area, and $195 for multi-region imaging (two or more areas during the same visit). We also accept most major insurance plans, in which case you pay only your plan’s applicable co-pay or deductible. There are no hidden fees and no separate radiology billing charges.

How long does a digital X-ray visit take?

Most X-ray visits are complete in 20 to 30 minutes total, from check-in through physician consultation, imaging, and receiving your results and treatment plan. The imaging capture itself takes under five minutes. Because our physicians interpret images on-site, there is no waiting for an outside radiology report.

How much radiation does a digital X-ray involve? Is it safe?

Digital X-ray uses electronic sensors instead of film, which requires significantly less radiation, up to 80 percent less than conventional film-based X-rays. For context, a chest X-ray delivers roughly the same dose as a few hours of natural background radiation. Digital X-ray is considered safe for patients of all ages, and our physicians follow established radiation-safety principles and clinical-appropriateness criteria for every study.

Can children receive digital X-rays at TrufaMED?

Yes. TrufaMED provides pediatric urgent care, including diagnostic imaging for children and adolescents. Our physicians apply age-appropriate positioning and use the minimum necessary radiation dose. Children with a suspected fracture, a chest infection, or another imaging indication are welcome to walk in with a parent or guardian.

When should I get an X-ray, and when should I go to the emergency room?

Walk-in X-ray at TrufaMED is appropriate for non-life-threatening injuries and conditions: a suspected fracture from a fall or sports injury, a chest X-ray for respiratory symptoms, spine imaging for back pain, sinus imaging, and similar presentations. Go directly to the emergency room for severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, a suspected head or spinal cord injury, major trauma, or signs of stroke. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately.

Is TrufaMED’s imaging Joint Commission accredited?

Yes. TrufaMED is Florida’s only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care facility, one of just eight nationwide. Accreditation means our imaging suite meets the same safety, quality, and clinical standards required of accredited hospital radiology departments, covering infection control, equipment calibration, clinical protocols, and staff credentialing.

Does TrufaMED offer chest X-rays for immigration physicals (I-693)?

Yes. TrufaMED provides chest X-rays for immigration physicals as part of the USCIS Form I-693 process. Call us at (305) 537-6396 or message us on WhatsApp at +1 (305) 842-9801 to confirm current civil-surgeon availability and schedule your visit. We serve Miami Beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour, and the surrounding community for immigration-related imaging and documentation.

Does TrufaMED also offer ultrasound and lab testing?

Yes. TrufaMED is equipped with on-site ultrasound and in-house laboratory testing. When clinically appropriate, your physician can combine X-ray, ultrasound, and lab diagnostics during a single visit, which removes the need for multiple appointments at separate facilities. This integrated diagnostic capability is one of our key advantages over a single-service imaging center.
