Chlamydia
The most commonly reported bacterial infection in the United States, and often silent. A simple urine or swab sample, highly treatable with a single antibiotic course.
Gonorrhea
Frequently tested alongside chlamydia. It can affect the genitals, throat, and rectum. A quick urine or swab sample, with effective antibiotic treatment prescribed on-site.
Syphilis
A blood test screens for all stages. Cases have risen across South Florida in recent years. Caught early, it is straightforward to treat and serious complications are prevented.
HIV 1 & 2 with p24
A fourth-generation combination test detecting HIV-1, HIV-2, and the p24 antigen. Rapid preliminary results in as little as twenty minutes, with confirmatory lab testing when indicated.
Hepatitis B & C
Screening for hepatitis B surface antigen and hepatitis C antibodies. Both can pass through contact, and early identification protects long-term liver health.
Herpes HSV-1 & HSV-2
A type-specific IgG blood test detects antibodies even when there are no active symptoms. Swab testing of active lesions is also available to confirm and guide treatment.
Trichomoniasis
The most common curable parasitic condition in the United States. Often without symptoms and easily missed without testing. Treated with a single-dose prescription.
Bacterial vaginosis
An imbalance in the vaginal bacterial environment that can cause discharge, odor, and irritation. Common, highly treatable, and analyzed on-site with antibiotics prescribed the same visit.
Complete panel
Comprehensive testing across all the major conditions in a single visit. A practical choice for routine wellness, a new relationship, or any time broad testing makes sense.
A yeast infection (vulvovaginal candidiasis) can also be confirmed on-site by microscopy, with antifungal treatment dispensed the same visit. Your physician will recommend the right tests based on your history.

Yes, completely. Every test and every result is private and HIPAA-protected. We never share results with anyone, including partners, family, or employers, without your explicit written consent. Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
You can walk in. TrufaMED sees walk-in patients seven days a week during clinic hours: Monday to Friday 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday 12 PM to 8 PM. You can also reserve a same-day time online or by calling (305) 537-6396 if you prefer a confirmed slot with no wait.
How quickly will I get my results?
It depends on the test. Rapid in-clinic HIV screening returns a preliminary result in about 20 minutes. Standard laboratory-confirmed testing for the other conditions typically returns within 24 to 72 hours. Your physician contacts you privately as soon as results are ready.
Can I be tested for just one concern, such as HIV?
Yes. You are never required to order a full panel. If you have a single concern, for example HIV after a possible exposure, your physician can order exactly the tests that fit your situation. There is no minimum.
Can I get treatment the same day if a result is positive?
Yes. If a result comes back positive, your physician discusses treatment with you the same day. Most bacterial conditions can be treated with a prescription written and filled on-site. For anything that needs specialist follow-up, your physician coordinates the right referral.
Is a physician always on duty at TrufaMED?
Yes. A board-certified physician is on duty during all operating hours, every day of the week. A physician leads your visit and interprets your results personally, not a phone script from an outside lab. This is one of the clearest differences between TrufaMED and a conventional walk-in clinic.
Does TrufaMED accept insurance for sexual health testing?
Yes. We accept most major plans, including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, and Medicare, and HSA and FSA payments are welcome. We do not currently accept so please call to verify your plan. Self-pay is also available for anyone who prefers to keep insurance out of the picture, with the exact cost quoted before you decide.
Can I come in for testing without any symptoms?
Yes, and we encourage it. Most people who benefit from testing have no symptoms at all. Many conditions are entirely silent and only show up through laboratory testing. Routine testing without symptoms is exactly what proactive sexual health looks like.
Do you offer PrEP consultation alongside testing?
Yes. Your physician can discuss HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) as part of your visit. A baseline panel is a clinical prerequisite for starting PrEP, so we can order the right tests, review your options, and connect you with ongoing monitoring care.
