About Dr. Shane D. Naidoo

Dr. Shane D. Naidoo is a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician who serves as Medical Director of TrufaMED Urgent Care in Surfside, Florida. He holds an active Florida medical license (#ME160319) and brings deep expertise in adult and pediatric emergency medicine, trauma, and critical care to every aspect of TrufaMED’s clinical operations.

Before joining TrufaMED in January 2025, Dr. Naidoo built an extensive career in high-volume emergency departments across the East Coast. As a TeamHealth Staff ER Attending Physician, he practiced at HMH JFK University Medical Center, Virtua Mount Holly Hospital, Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, HMH JFK Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Holy Name Medical Center, and within the Northern Light Health System. Prior to that, he served on TeamHealth’s Special Operations team as a traveling ER attending physician, managing 300 to 400 patients per month in rural emergency department settings.

Dr. Naidoo completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York — an urban academic Level II trauma center with an annual volume of approximately 110,000 emergency visits. During residency, he also trained at Maimonides Medical Center (approximately 120,000 annual visits) and The Children’s Hospital at SUNY Downstate PICU. This training in some of the busiest emergency departments in the country forged his ability to manage high-acuity patients under pressure.

Dr. Naidoo received the Heart Saver Hero Award from the American Heart Association in 2024 after performing life-saving CPR on a runner who went into cardiac arrest during a half-marathon in Jersey City. The rescue was featured on the Washington Post and NBC Nightly News, bringing national attention to the importance of bystander intervention and emergency preparedness.

Before medical school, Dr. Naidoo began his career in healthcare as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and later as a Medical Scribe with ScribeAmerica, rising to Chief Medical Scribe at Riverview Medical Center and Jersey Shore Medical Center, and then to Project Manager overseeing new hospital system implementations. This ground-up clinical experience gives him a unique perspective on every aspect of patient care delivery.

At TrufaMED, Dr. Naidoo combines his extensive emergency medicine background with a commitment to accessible, physician-led urgent care. He oversees all clinical operations, IV therapy protocols, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy services, ensuring every patient receives the same standard of care found in top-tier emergency departments.
