The quick answer

What is the Rehydrate IV?

Rehydrate delivers a full liter of isotonic normal saline with an electrolyte blend and magnesium directly into your bloodstream, bypassing the gut entirely. It is the foundational TrufaMED hydration drip: about 30 to 45 minutes in our Surfside lounge, ordered by a board-certified physician and placed by a licensed provider. Because the fluid goes straight into circulation, close to 100% is absorbed at once, which is why IV rehydration is the standard of care in hospitals and emergency departments worldwide.

The formula

What is inside a Rehydrate drip?

A clean, focused hydration formula. No filler, no additives you do not need. When you want the wellness vitamins layered on, the Myers’ Cocktail is a step up; Rehydrate is built for fluid and electrolyte replacement, done fast.

1L normal saline (0.9% NaCl)

Sterile isotonic saline that matches the body’s natural fluid composition, making it the gold standard for rapid, effective IV hydration. A full liter restores intravascular volume in a single session.

Electrolyte blend

Sodium, potassium, and chloride to restore the electrolyte balance that dehydration disrupts, supporting nerve signaling, muscle function, and the way your cells regulate fluid.

Magnesium

Added to support muscle and nervous-system function and to address the cramping that often comes with dehydration after heat, exercise, or illness.

Optional B-complex add-on

Available if you want a layer of energy support on top of pure hydration. Your physician can add it at intake, or point you to a fuller wellness drip if that fits better.

Best for post-workout recovery, heat exhaustion, mild to moderate dehydration, post-flight recovery, and anyone who wants fast IV hydration without the added vitamins of a Myers’ Cocktail. Want the full wellness stack instead? Compare the Myers’ Cocktail.

What it delivers

Why a liter of saline changes how you feel

Even mild dehydration measurably affects concentration, energy, and physical stamina. Restoring fluid directly, rather than waiting on the digestive tract, is what makes the difference noticeable within the hour.

Rapid fluid restoration

A full liter delivered intravenously restores fluid balance far faster than drinking water, with close to 100% bioavailability and no dependence on digestion.

Sharper energy and clarity

Even mild dehydration impairs cognitive function, reaction time, and energy. Many patients notice a meaningful lift in mental sharpness during the infusion itself.

Relief from headache and fatigue

Two of the most common dehydration symptoms, headache and fatigue, typically respond quickly to IV saline, often easing before the session is complete.

Support for every body system

Proper hydration underlies cardiovascular function, kidney health, digestion, skin, joint comfort, and temperature regulation. One infusion supports all of them at once.

When it beats water

When IV hydration beats drinking water

For everyday thirst, drinking water is plenty. But when you need rapid intravascular volume back, after intense exercise in Miami heat, a long flight, or a bout of vomiting, water has to traverse the digestive tract and is absorbed slowly, a little at a time. A Rehydrate IV delivers a full liter straight to the bloodstream in 30 to 45 minutes, restoring electrolyte balance immediately. That is the difference between feeling restored later today and feeling restored within the hour. There is no waiting on your stomach, no bloating, and no ceiling on how fast your body can use the fluid.

Rehydrate or Rehydrate+: which carrier fits?

Rehydrate uses normal saline, 0.9% sodium chloride, and is our entry-level hydration drip at $200. Rehydrate+ uses Lactated Ringers, a balanced crystalloid that adds calcium, potassium, and lactate, a buffer the liver converts to bicarbonate. Lactated Ringers more closely matches blood plasma, so Rehydrate+ is the better choice for heavier metabolic recovery. If you simply want fast, affordable hydration, Rehydrate is the right drip. If you are recovering harder, Rehydrate+ is worth the step up, and your physician will help you choose at intake.

Where Rehydrate fits in the full menu

Rehydrate is the foundation the rest of the menu builds on. If your goal is recovery from a rough night, the Hangover Recovery drip adds anti-nausea and anti-inflammatory support. If a stomach bug or food poisoning is the problem, the Food Poisoning and Stomach Flu IV targets that directly. See the complete IV therapy menu for all eighteen formulas.

Your visit

What to expect, start to finish

Quick check-in

A brief clinical intake confirms Rehydrate is the right drip and screens for any contraindications. Usually under five minutes, with physician sign-off before anything starts.

Comfortable setup

Settle into our private IV lounge. A licensed provider places a small IV line quickly and comfortably, and starts the saline at a steady rate.

Infusion, about 30 to 45 minutes

One liter of saline infuses steadily while red light therapy runs alongside. Many patients notice improved energy and reduced headache before the bag is finished.

Feel the difference

Line out, vitals checked, and most patients leave feeling measurably better within the hour. For ongoing needs, a membership lowers the cost of regular sessions.

When it helps most

When hydration really matters

Most people walk around mildly dehydrated without realizing it. By the time you feel thirsty, your body has already lost enough fluid to affect focus, digestion, and stamina. These are the moments a Rehydrate IV earns its place.

A great fit for

  • Athletes recovering after hard training or a race in the heat
  • Travelers landing dehydrated from a long flight or a new climate
  • Anyone managing the effects of Miami sun and humidity
  • People bouncing back from a night out or a short illness
  • First-time IV patients who want a simple, affordable starting drip

Consider a different drip if

  • You want the full wellness stack of vitamins, which is the Myers’ Cocktail
  • You are recovering harder and want a plasma-matched carrier, which is Rehydrate+
  • Nausea and vomiting are the main issue, where the Food Poisoning IV fits better
  • A physician evaluates you as needing urgent care rather than a wellness drip

IV therapy is provided following a medical evaluation and under physician oversight. It is not a substitute for emergency care. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

Your physicians

A physician signs off on every drip

Even a simple saline drip is a medical procedure. At TrufaMED every IV is reviewed and approved by a board-certified physician on shift before a licensed provider places the line.

Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Uri Gedalia, MD, FACS
Board-Certified General Surgeon

Dr. Gedalia built TrufaMED around physician-led protocols, Joint Commission accreditation, and a standard of care usually reserved for hospital systems. He oversees the IV therapy program and approves the formulary, including the hydration drips.

Medical Director
Dr. Shane D. Naidoo, MD
Board-Certified Emergency Medicine

Dr. Naidoo directs clinical operations and supervises the nursing team. His emergency background means hydration and electrolyte correction are second nature, and he brings calm, decisive judgment to every order.

A board-certified physician leads every shift, seven days a week. This physician-first approach is why TrufaMED carries Joint Commission accreditation, a distinction held by only eight urgent care centers nationwide. Our lab operates under CLIA #10D2326945.

Meet the clinical team

Rehydrate IV, answered

What patients across Miami ask most before booking a hydration drip.

How quickly will I feel better after a Rehydrate IV?

Most patients begin to notice improvement within 20 to 30 minutes of starting the infusion. Headaches often ease before the bag is finished, and energy levels typically lift within the hour. Full effects are usually felt within a few hours as your body redistributes the fluid where it is needed most.

Is IV hydration better than drinking water?

For significant dehydration, yes. Drinking water relies on your digestive system to absorb fluid gradually, and your body can only process a limited amount at a time. A Rehydrate IV delivers a full liter of saline directly into the bloodstream at close to 100% bioavailability, which is faster and more efficient when you are already dehydrated, nauseous, or unable to keep fluids down. For mild thirst, water is plenty.

Who is the Rehydrate IV best for?

It is ideal for anyone with dehydration symptoms such as fatigue, headache, dry skin, dizziness, or reduced mental clarity. It is especially popular with athletes after training, travelers adjusting to a new climate, people recovering from illness, and anyone managing the effects of Miami heat. As our most affordable drip, it is also a practical first IV for new patients.

What is the difference between Rehydrate and Rehydrate+?

Rehydrate uses normal saline, 0.9% sodium chloride, as its carrier and is our entry-level hydration drip at $200. Rehydrate+ uses Lactated Ringers, a balanced crystalloid that adds calcium, potassium, and lactate, a buffer the liver converts to bicarbonate. Lactated Ringers more closely matches blood plasma, so Rehydrate+ suits heavier metabolic recovery. You can compare the two on our Rehydrate+ page.

Are there any side effects of IV hydration?

IV hydration with normal saline is one of the safest treatments in medicine, the same fluid given in hospitals worldwide. Minor effects can include slight bruising or coolness at the IV site. Every session at TrufaMED is placed by licensed clinical staff and supervised by a board-certified physician, who reviews your history first to confirm the drip is right for you.

How long does the Rehydrate session take?

A typical Rehydrate session runs about 30 to 45 minutes, seated comfortably in our private IV lounge. Most patients are in and out within an hour, including the brief medical evaluation at the start of the visit. In-clinic sessions also include complimentary red light therapy alongside the drip.

Can I combine Rehydrate with other IV nutrients?

Yes. Many patients layer vitamins, antioxidants, or a B-complex add-on onto their hydration session. If you want the full wellness stack of B-complex, B12, vitamin C, magnesium, and calcium, the Myers’ Cocktail is the better starting point. Your physician reviews your goals at intake and recommends the formula that fits.

Do I need an appointment for IV hydration?

Appointments are recommended to guarantee availability and minimize any wait, but walk-ins are welcome based on availability. You can book your Rehydrate session online in seconds or call (305) 537-6396. For mobile delivery to your home or hotel, booking ahead is required.

Is Rehydrate IV covered by insurance, HSA, or FSA?

Rehydrate IV is self-pay; we do not bill insurance for wellness hydration. We accept all major cards, HSA and FSA, and Apple Pay, and provide receipts on request. If a physician evaluation is clinically required alongside your drip, for example for significant dehydration, that separate medical visit may be billable through our urgent care. Ask at check-in.
