A physician-supervised GLP-1 program we added at the request of our members, so their care stays under one roof. Your physician evaluates your metabolic health, builds the protocol around your bloodwork, and prescribes only where it is clinically appropriate.
Labs before any prescription. Pricing is set in your consultation, with no surprise charges.
Joint Commission AccreditedTirzepatide and semaglutide are the most-prescribed weight loss injections in Miami, and most are sold sight-unseen by telehealth platforms and med-spa scripts. TrufaMED does it the other way. We added this program because our concierge members asked us to manage it for them, under the same roof as the rest of their care. Every protocol begins with a consultation and baseline labs, and a board-certified physician oversees each dose adjustment from start to maintenance.
GLP-1 medications work by reducing appetite, slowing gastric emptying, and improving how your body handles insulin. That is powerful, and it is why they require supervision: bloodwork before you start, careful dose titration, side-effect management, and screening for the conditions that make these medications unsafe. We treat your weight as part of your whole metabolic picture.
Your physician chooses the medication that fits your labs, your goals, and how your body responds. There is no single default.
A dual-agonist medication that activates both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors. In clinical trials it has produced the largest mean weight reduction of any FDA-approved weight-management medication. We use it for significant weight-reduction goals, type 2 diabetes with obesity, and metabolic syndrome with insulin resistance. Sold under the brand names Mounjaro and Zepbound.
A single-receptor GLP-1 agonist with the longest established cardiovascular safety record in its class. We prescribe it for patients who fit the cardiovascular indication, prefer a single-receptor mechanism, or are continuing therapy from a prior provider. Sold under the brand names Ozempic and Wegovy.
The program runs under your dedicated primary care physician, who sets the medication and dose, reviews every lab draw, and adjusts the protocol month to month as your response comes in.
We dispense both FDA-approved manufacturer formulations and licensed compounded formulations from regulated 503A and 503B pharmacies. Pharmacy sourcing is disclosed before any medication is prescribed. We do not source from unregulated or unlicensed sellers.
Four steps, each led by a physician. No prescription is written before your bloodwork is reviewed.
Concierge members start with their concierge team, and we schedule the consult with a board-certified physician, in-clinic or by telehealth. We review your history, current medications, weight goals, and prior attempts.
Baseline labs are drawn at the consult in our Surfside clinic: CBC, comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel, HbA1c, thyroid function, and lipase, with additional testing at the discretion of your physician. Most run in our own in-house lab.
Your physician reviews labs, confirms eligibility, and designs your protocol: medication choice, starting dose, titration schedule, the side-effect profile to expect, and your monitoring cadence.
Your medication is supplied each month through the clinic, and your first injection is given in-clinic. You receive injection training at the consult, weekly nurse-given injections are available if you prefer them, and your physician reviews your response monthly, adjusting the dose as your results come in.
GLP-1 medications are powerful tools, and they are not appropriate for every patient. Honest qualification protects your outcome.
Tirzepatide and semaglutide protocols are billed monthly as part of your concierge program. The program is reserved for Signature concierge members with a dedicated primary care physician, and it begins with a single consult. Pricing is shared by your concierge team before anything is prescribed.
What you can expect: complete pricing transparency before any medication is prescribed, no surprise charges, and a clear explanation of what your monthly program covers. The weight loss program lives inside the broader TrufaMED concierge program, so your membership covers far more than the medication alone.
GLP-1 medications are well-studied and have established safety profiles, and most patients tolerate them well. Common, expected side effects include nausea (especially in the first weeks), reduced appetite (the desired effect), constipation or loose stools, fatigue during dose-up periods, and occasional injection-site reactions. Our program titrates your dose specifically to minimize these effects. If side effects become problematic, your physician adjusts the dose or pauses titration. You are not on your own.
Less common but clinically significant risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and accelerated gastric emptying. Patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 are not candidates for tirzepatide or semaglutide, and we screen for these conditions during your consultation and labs.
The most important safety mechanism in this program is access to your physician. Baseline labs establish your starting metabolic picture, and scheduled lab reviews track how your body is responding so the protocol can be adjusted over time. Baseline measurements and regular weigh-ins track the change between lab draws. If something feels wrong between visits, you message us directly.
For members who want to layer in performance and longevity work, additional physician-led programs sit inside our Performance Medicine program, and members can enroll in both. Weight management also pairs well with IV therapy at member rates and a broader preventive care plan.
This program supports non-emergency, outpatient medical weight management. For a true emergency, call 911.
Every weight loss prescription at TrufaMED is written by a board-certified physician you meet in person, after labs we run in our own clinic.
Dr. Gedalia earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University and completed his surgical residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York. He leads the concierge program and brings a surgeon’s understanding of metabolic health to the design of each weight loss protocol.
Dr. Naidoo brings extensive adult and pediatric emergency, trauma, and critical-care experience from high-volume emergency departments across the East Coast. His training means patients get a physician who watches closely, screens carefully, and adjusts decisively as the protocol progresses.
TrufaMED is Florida’s only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care and concierge practice, a distinction held by only eight urgent care centers in the United States. It is the same standard applied to major hospitals, and it governs every part of this program.
The program is built for greater Miami patients who can come into our Surfside clinic for at least the initial consultation, baseline labs, and periodic in-person follow-up. Telehealth follow-ups between visits are available.
What patients across Miami, Miami Beach, Bal Harbour, and Surfside ask before starting.
Tirzepatide is a once-weekly injectable medication that activates two gut hormone receptors, GLP-1 and GIP. The dual mechanism reduces appetite, slows gastric emptying, and improves insulin sensitivity. In clinical trials, tirzepatide has produced the largest mean weight reduction of any FDA-approved weight-management medication. It is sold under the brand names Mounjaro (for type 2 diabetes) and Zepbound (for weight loss).
Semaglutide is the active ingredient. Ozempic is the brand approved for type 2 diabetes, Wegovy is the brand approved for weight loss, and Rybelsus is the oral form. All contain the same medication. The TrufaMED program uses FDA-approved semaglutide formulations and licensed compounded semaglutide depending on availability and clinical fit, disclosed transparently before anything is prescribed.
In clinical trials, average total body weight reduction at one year is roughly 15 percent on semaglutide and 20 to 22 percent on the highest dose of tirzepatide. Individual results vary based on starting weight, dose tolerated, adherence, and lifestyle changes. Some patients lose more, some less. A board-certified physician sets realistic expectations during your consultation, based on your labs and history.
GLP-1 medications require physician supervision. Labs before starting, dose titration, side-effect monitoring, and clinical adjustments are not optional. Selling these medications transactionally, without a clinical relationship, is the common model elsewhere, and we believe it produces worse outcomes and higher risk. The concierge structure is how we build in the time and access to do this safely, and it bundles the medication with broader health management.
A CBC, comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel, HbA1c, thyroid function (TSH), and lipase, plus a pregnancy test where applicable. Your physician may add further testing based on your history. Baseline labs are included and drawn at our Surfside clinic, most in our own in-house lab.
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal: nausea (especially in the first weeks and after dose increases), reduced appetite (the intended effect), constipation, occasional loose stools, and fatigue during dose-up periods. Most are mild and improve with slow titration. Less common but significant risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and accelerated gastric emptying. The full risk profile is reviewed during your consultation.
Treatment duration is individualized. Some patients use a GLP-1 for one year of active weight reduction followed by a structured taper or maintenance dose, while others stay on a maintenance dose long-term. When the medication stops, appetite typically returns and some weight regain is common without continued nutrition and behavioral support. Your physician plans your timeline and any taper around your goals, response, and clinical picture.
We dispense both FDA-approved manufacturer formulations and licensed compounded formulations from regulated 503A and 503B pharmacies, depending on availability, clinical appropriateness, and patient preference. Pharmacy sourcing is disclosed before any medication is prescribed. We do not source from unregulated international or unlicensed sellers.
Eligibility is based on BMI thresholds and metabolic risk factors, not a target number of pounds. Most patients in our program have a clinically meaningful goal of fifteen pounds or more, often alongside metabolic syndrome, prediabetes, or related conditions. Patients seeking minor cosmetic weight changes are usually not appropriate candidates, and we will tell you so honestly during the consultation.
Concierge members message the concierge team on WhatsApp at +1 (305) 842-9801. If you are not yet a member, the same conversation is the right place to start, since the program runs inside our concierge practice. The consult reviews your full medical history, current medications, weight goals, and prior attempts, and baseline labs are drawn the same day where appropriate.
