Executive Physical Miami: What to Expect at TrufaMED

Executive Physical Miami: What to Expect at TrufaMED

The executive physical is the foundation of serious preventive medicine. Done properly, it is not a longer version of an annual checkup — it is a structured 2 to 3-hour diagnostic visit designed to surface the cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal, and oncologic risks that shorten lives, while there is still time to intervene. TrufaMED's executive physical delivers this in a concierge environment in Surfside, serving executives, professionals, and families across Miami. The visit is led personally by Dr. Shane D. Naidoo MD, our board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and Medical Director, and results in a written Executive Health Report you can share with your primary care physician and any specialists.

Why a Standard Annual Is Not Enough

The insurance-based annual physical is constrained by time, reimbursement rules, and a narrow guideline set designed for population averages. It is valuable, but it is not designed to find the asymptomatic heart disease, the early metabolic drift, the subclinical thyroid dysfunction, or the cancer signal that deserves attention. An executive physical is designed exactly for those findings. The result is a current, deep clinical snapshot and a written report your existing care team can act on.

What Is Included at TrufaMED

The TrufaMED executive physical is a 2 to 3-hour, physician-led evaluation that integrates the clinic's on-site diagnostic infrastructure. Components include:

  • Advanced laboratory panel — CBC, CMP, urinalysis, HbA1c, fasting insulin with HOMA-IR insulin resistance scoring, full lipid panel including ApoB and Lp(a), hsCRP, homocysteine, full thyroid (TSH, Free T4, Free T3, anti-TPO), full hormone panel (total + free testosterone, estradiol, SHBG, DHEA-S, AM cortisol), PSA for men 40+, vitamin D, B12, folate, ferritin, iron studies, and magnesium
  • Cardiovascular screening — 12-lead resting EKG, orthostatic blood pressure series, ASCVD and Framingham cardiovascular risk stratification
  • On-site imaging — digital chest X-ray (PA + lateral) included; coronary calcium CT, full-body MRI, and other advanced imaging coordinated by referral to imaging partners when clinically appropriate
  • Cancer screening reminders — age- and risk-appropriate screening documented in the report; Galleri multi-cancer detection available as an add-on
  • Physical examination — comprehensive head-to-toe exam, full-body skin lesion review, cardiovascular / abdominal / neurological / musculoskeletal exams, lymphatic palpation, PHQ-9 + GAD-7 mental health screening, MoCA cognitive screen for patients 50 and over
  • Body composition — weight, BMI, waist-hip ratio
  • Sexual health screening — comprehensive panel on request, billed separately
  • Physician consultation — 45 to 60 minutes one-on-one with Dr. Naidoo
  • Written Executive Health Report — delivered within 2 to 5 business days, formatted to be shared with the patient's PCP and any specialists

The Experience

Patients arrive at the Harding Avenue clinic in Surfside — walkable from Bal Harbour and a short drive from Miami Beach, Bay Harbor Islands, Sunny Isles, and Aventura. Blood draw, EKG, chest X-ray, and body composition are performed on-site in sequence. Dr. Shane D. Naidoo conducts the in-depth history and physical examination. Same-day in-house lab results are reviewed before the patient leaves. Send-out advanced labs (ApoB, Lp(a), advanced hormones) return within standard reference-lab turnaround and are incorporated into the written Executive Health Report delivered 2 to 5 business days after the visit. If Galleri multi-cancer detection is added, those results return in 7 to 10 business days and are reviewed during a dedicated follow-up call.

Pricing

The TrufaMED executive physical is $1,095. The Galleri multi-cancer detection add-on is +$950, bringing the total bundled price to $2,045. FAMILY+ and SIGNATURE concierge members receive the executive physical and Galleri included as part of their membership at no additional cost; the VIP tier does not include the executive physical. The service is self-pay only — not billable to insurance, because insurance carriers bundle preventive evaluations under restrictive global case rates that do not reimburse this depth of assessment. HSA and FSA accounts can be used. Volume pricing is available for corporate or employer-sponsored group physicals; contact TrufaMED directly to discuss.

A Diagnostic Snapshot, Not Ongoing Primary Care

The TrufaMED executive physical is designed as a comprehensive current snapshot of your health — not a replacement for your primary care physician. Ongoing primary care, long-term medication management, specialist coordination over time, and disease management remain with the patient's PCP. The written Executive Health Report is built to be handed to your PCP and any specialists so your existing care team can act on findings. When findings during the executive physical suggest additional workup is appropriate, recommendations are documented in the report — for example, dermatology referral for a skin lesion, cardiology referral for an elevated Lp(a), or GI referral for colonoscopy timing.

Why Miami Executives Choose TrufaMED

Three factors separate TrufaMED from other executive-physical venues in South Florida. First, Joint Commission accreditation — a rigorous external audit of patient-safety and clinical systems that applies to fewer than ten urgent care and concierge practices in the country, and TrufaMED is the only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care in Florida. Second, the integration of urgent care, concierge medicine, IV therapy, and HBOT under one clinical roof, available as optional same-day add-ons during your visit. Third, the physicians themselves — a board-certified general surgeon and a board-certified emergency physician, credentialed across hospital and outpatient settings.

From Executive Physical to Concierge Relationship

Many patients encounter TrufaMED first through the executive physical and then elect to enter the concierge membership program. The assessment becomes the clinical baseline; concierge membership adds ongoing physician access, advocacy when you need ER or hospital care, and the broader TrufaMED service stack (IV, HBOT, house calls). For patients living in Miami Beach, Bal Harbour, or Bay Harbor Islands, this combination delivers the depth of an academic medical center with the access of a private practice.

An executive physical is a comprehensive, physician-led health assessment that goes substantially beyond a standard annual exam. The TrufaMED executive physical includes an advanced laboratory panel (with ApoB, Lp(a), SHBG, full thyroid, full hormone panel, HOMA-IR insulin resistance), 12-lead EKG, digital chest X-ray, a 45 to 60-minute physician consultation, and a written Executive Health Report.

How long does a TrufaMED executive physical take?

The on-site visit is 2 to 3 hours, which includes intake, vitals, blood draw, EKG, chest X-ray, the extended physician consultation with Dr. Naidoo, and same-visit review of in-house lab results. The full written Executive Health Report is delivered within 2 to 5 business days.

What is included in the TrufaMED executive physical?

Advanced laboratory panel including ApoB, Lp(a), SHBG, full thyroid with anti-TPO, full hormone panel, HOMA-IR insulin resistance, hsCRP, homocysteine, vitamin D, B12, folate, iron studies, ferritin, magnesium, and PSA for men 40+. Cardiovascular screening with 12-lead EKG, orthostatic blood pressure, and ASCVD/Framingham risk stratification. Digital chest X-ray. Comprehensive physical exam by Dr. Naidoo. Mental health and cognitive screening. Written Executive Health Report formatted for your PCP.

Is an executive physical covered by insurance?

No. The TrufaMED executive physical is a self-pay service only. Insurance carriers bundle preventive evaluations under restrictive global case rates that do not reimburse this depth of assessment. HSA and FSA accounts can be used.

How much does the executive physical cost?

$1,095 for the standard executive physical. $2,045 with Galleri multi-cancer detection added. FAMILY+ and SIGNATURE concierge members receive both included. Volume pricing is available for corporate or employer-sponsored group bookings.

Does the executive physical replace my primary care doctor?

No. The executive physical is a diagnostic snapshot, not ongoing primary care. Long-term medication management, specialist coordination over time, and disease management remain with the patient's PCP. The written Executive Health Report is formatted to be shared with the patient's care team.

Do I need to be a concierge member to book an executive physical?

No. The executive physical is available both as a standalone service and as a gateway to concierge membership. Many patients begin with the executive physical and then elect membership based on the depth of the relationship it establishes.

How often should an executive physical be repeated?

Annually for most patients. Patients with elevated cardiovascular risk, strong family history of cancer, or complex metabolic profiles may benefit from a six-month cadence for targeted components, with the full assessment performed yearly.
