What You Get

A Full Medical Visit. In Your Room.

When a TrufaMED physician arrives at your hotel or vacation residence, you receive the same level of evaluation and intervention you would get in a board-certified emergency department or urgent care clinic — without leaving your room or sitting in a waiting area. The physician arrives discreetly, conducts a complete medical evaluation, runs whatever diagnostics are needed on the spot, and treats most conditions during the same visit.

Board-Certified ER MD

Every house call is performed by a board-certified emergency medicine physician — not a nurse practitioner or PA. ER physicians are trained to evaluate complex acute conditions and intervene immediately.

24/7 Availability

Physicians available around the clock, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Most calls within Miami Beach respond in 1 to 4 hours of request.

💉

IV Therapy On-Site

Hydration, anti-nausea, pain control, antibiotics, and the full TrufaMED IV menu delivered in-room. No need to go to a clinic or wait for a separate mobile IV team.

🔍

Diagnostic Ultrasound

Point-of-care ultrasound for abdominal pain, suspected fractures or sprains, soft tissue injuries, and vascular concerns — performed at the bedside.

🔬

Rapid Lab Testing

Flu, strep, RSV, COVID-19, and other rapid panels with results in minutes. Blood draws for chemistry and infectious disease workups sent to lab same-day.

💊

First Dose Administered

Any prescribed medication — antibiotics, anti-emetics, pain control — the physician can administer the first dose at the visit. No waiting on a pharmacy to fill before symptom relief begins.

Transparent Pricing

Physician Visit Fee. Set by Lead Time.

Pricing is structured by how quickly you need the physician to arrive (separate from the TrufaMED concierge medicine membership, which is for residents). There are no hidden charges for the visit itself — the fee covers the physician’s time, evaluation, decision-making, and any prescriptions written.

Diagnostic services and treatments performed during the visit are billed separately at transparent rates. You receive an itemized invoice at the end of the visit with the visit fee plus any add-ons. Payment is by card on file, charged to your room (with hotel agreement), or direct to TrufaMED.

Common Reasons We’re Called

What We Treat In-Room.

Most acute medical situations that would otherwise require an urgent care or ER visit can be handled in your hotel room. The physician’s emergency medicine training means they can evaluate, diagnose, and treat across the full spectrum of acute conditions short of life-threatening emergencies (which require 911).

Severe Cold, Flu, COVID, RSV

Rapid testing on-site, IV hydration, anti-nausea, fever control, antiviral or antibiotic if indicated, and first dose administered at visit.

Stomach Flu / Food Poisoning

IV hydration, IV anti-nausea (Zofran), IV pain control. Most patients feel meaningfully better before the physician leaves.

Migraine or Severe Headache

IV magnesium, IV ketorolac (non-opioid anti-inflammatory), and IV anti-nausea. Most migraines resolve within 30 to 45 minutes of infusion start.

Sinus or Ear Infection

Otoscopic exam, rapid strep test if indicated, antibiotic prescription with first dose administered.

UTI / Sexual Health Concerns

Discreet evaluation, urine analysis on-site, antibiotic with first dose administered. Confidential.

Sprains, Minor Fractures

Point-of-care ultrasound for soft tissue + bone evaluation, splinting, pain control. X-ray or referral if needed.

Cuts, Lacerations, Wounds

Cleaning, suturing or wound adhesive, tetanus update if needed, antibiotic if indicated.

Hangover Recovery

IV hydration, IV anti-nausea, IV pain control, electrolyte restoration. Most guests feel restored within an hour.

Dehydration / Heat Illness

IV hydration with electrolyte support, anti-nausea if needed. Common request after long beach days or athletic events.

Allergic Reactions

Steroid + antihistamine administration, monitoring, epinephrine if needed for severe reaction. Stable patients managed in-room.

Anxiety / Panic Episodes

Calm clinical evaluation, medication if appropriate, follow-up referral. Discreet.

Pediatric Acute Care

Pediatric evaluation, rapid testing, age-appropriate medication. Both adult and pediatric patients welcome.

When to Call 911 Instead

House Calls Are Not for Emergencies.

TrufaMED’s concierge physician service is designed for acute but non-life-threatening medical needs. For true emergencies, the response time of 911 EMS will always be faster than a physician house call — and the level of intervention available in an ambulance and emergency department is greater than what can be delivered in a hotel room.

Always call 911 for:

  • Chest pain, pressure, or tightness (suspected cardiac event)
  • Sudden severe headache, especially with vision changes or weakness
  • Sudden confusion, slurred speech, or facial droop (suspected stroke)
  • Difficulty breathing not improved with rescue inhaler
  • Severe uncontrolled bleeding
  • Severe allergic reaction with throat swelling or breathing difficulty
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Severe trauma (falls from height, motor vehicle accidents)
  • Signs of stroke, heart attack, or sepsis
  • Suicidal thoughts or psychiatric emergency

If a guest’s situation is at all unclear, call 911 first — the EMS team will make the call on hospital transport. TrufaMED can follow up after stabilization for ongoing care.

Emergency — Always 911

For life-threatening situations, 911 EMS will arrive faster than any private physician service and has the equipment to stabilize during transport.

Once a guest is stable, TrufaMED’s concierge physicians can take over for non-emergency follow-up care — saving the guest from a hospital stay or repeated ER visits during the trip.

FAQ

Common Questions From Guests & Concierges.

How fast can the physician arrive?
Most rapid response calls are confirmed within 30 minutes and the physician arrives within 1 to 4 hours, depending on time of day and location. Same-day requests typically result in arrival within 4 to 12 hours. Scheduled visits booked 24 or more hours in advance are confirmed for a specific time window.
What does the physician bring to the visit?
Each physician carries a full mobile medical kit including diagnostic equipment (otoscope, ophthalmoscope, stethoscope, blood pressure, pulse oximeter), point-of-care ultrasound device, rapid testing kits (flu, strep, RSV, COVID, urine analysis), blood draw supplies, IV therapy supplies, and commonly prescribed medications for first-dose administration. For complex cases requiring lab studies, samples are collected at the visit and sent to a reference lab.
How is the visit billed?
Billing is direct to TrufaMED via card on file, or charged to your hotel room with the hotel’s agreement. The visit fee ($600 / $800 / $1,000 depending on lead time) is billed at the start of the visit. Add-on services (ultrasound, lab tests, IV therapy, medications) are itemized at the end. International guests receive itemized receipts in English plus a second language on request for submission to home insurance.
Can the physician handle pediatric patients?
Yes. Both adult and pediatric patients are welcome. The physician will adjust evaluation and treatment for age. For very young children with severe symptoms, the physician may recommend a follow-up referral to a pediatric specialist or hospital for definitive care.
Does the visit cover prescription medication?
The first dose of any prescribed medication is administered at the visit so symptom relief can begin immediately. Subsequent doses are filled at a local pharmacy — the physician sends the prescription electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. There is no separate fee for the first-dose administration.
Can multiple guests be seen on one visit?
Yes — the visit fee covers the physician’s presence at the room. If a couple, family, or group has multiple members who need evaluation during the same visit, only one visit fee applies. Each additional patient’s diagnostics, lab tests, and medications are billed separately as add-ons.
What if the physician determines I need to go to a hospital?
If the physician’s evaluation reveals a condition requiring hospital-level care (e.g., suspected appendicitis, cardiac event, severe infection requiring IV antibiotics over multiple days), the physician will coordinate immediate transport to the most appropriate hospital and continue to oversee your case during transport and admission. The visit fee is not refunded for transport scenarios — the evaluation and stabilization that led to the hospital decision are core to the value.
Is the service available outside Miami?
Standard service area covers Miami Beach, Bal Harbour, Sunny Isles, Surfside, Aventura, Bay Harbor Islands, Brickell, downtown Miami, and the surrounding luxury hotel corridor. Service to extended areas (Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach) is available with adjusted lead time and travel surcharges — call (305) 537-6396 to confirm.
