The quick answer

Where can Sunny Isles residents walk in for urgent care?

TrufaMED at 9445 Harding Avenue in Surfside is the closest physician-staffed urgent care to Sunny Isles Beach, about ten minutes south on Collins Avenue, A1A, or Harding. Walk in seven days a week, with a board-certified physician leading every shift and on-site digital X-ray, labs, ultrasound, EKG, and IV therapy that finish most visits in a single appointment.

Why the drive south is worth it

Built for how Sunny Isles lives

Sunny Isles Beach is a vertical city of luxury high-rises, global residents, and visitors who expect private-practice quality without booking friction. TrufaMED is built for exactly that: a boutique clinic where a physician examines you, not a medical assistant, and every diagnostic service is already inside the building.

Care that matches the address

Residents of Acqualina, the Trump Towers, Porsche Design Tower, the Armani Residences, Jade Beach, Jade Ocean, and the Mansions at Acqualina get the experience they expect at home: a quiet waiting room, a senior physician, and no assembly-line check-in.

Eight languages, no interpreter line

Our team speaks English, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Hebrew, Italian, French, and Creole. That matches the Sunny Isles population, and your history, exam, and prescriptions are explained directly in your language.

Discretion as a clinical standard

Records are never shared without your consent, and self-pay is respected without friction. We coordinate with your primary physician or building concierge only when you ask us to.

A short drive, a fast answer

Ten minutes south on Collins or A1A, even at rush hour, is faster than a round trip to a hospital-affiliated walk-in in Aventura, and you reach a physician the moment you arrive.

For travelers and seasonal residents

Post-flight and travel care, handled same visit

Sunny Isles is a gateway for international residents and visitors. Long-haul flights, a new climate, and a busy first 48 hours create predictable medical needs, the kind our physicians see every day.

Post-flight dehydration

Ten to fourteen hours in a pressurized cabin leaves most travelers clinically dehydrated. A physician-supervised IV resolves headache, fatigue, and dry mucous membranes in about an hour.

Sun and heat illness

Early heat exhaustion, with nausea, headache, and muscle cramps, is common in guests arriving from colder climates. Active cooling and IV fluids prevent progression to heat stroke, an ER-level emergency.

Stomach illness and food poisoning

A change in diet, water, and time zone brings travelers in with vomiting, diarrhea, and cramping. Anti-nausea medication, targeted IV fluids, and a focused exam tell self-limited illness from something that needs escalation.

Prescription continuity

Lost or expired prescriptions are a common reason for a same-day visit. Our physicians examine, verify, and bridge-prescribe non-controlled medications when appropriate, sent to any pharmacy you choose.

Allergy and insect reactions

New environment, new allergens. Everything from tree-pollen sinus misery to a jellyfish sting is handled same visit, with epinephrine, IV steroids, and antihistamines on hand. For anaphylaxis, we stabilize and arrange ER transfer.

Hotel and residence concierge

Our team works alongside the concierge desks at Acqualina, the Trump Towers, Porsche Design, Armani, and other Sunny Isles residences. If your concierge calls for you, we reserve your slot and streamline intake.

Everything in one visit

What we can finish in a single appointment

Every capability below is physically on-site at 9445 Harding Avenue. No split visits, no referrals across town, no waiting three days for an outside lab.

Walk-in urgent care

Fever, flu, strep, UTIs, infections, allergic reactions, and minor injuries, diagnosed and treated in one visit under physician oversight.

Digital X-ray

On-site imaging for sprains, fractures, chest, ribs, and abdomen, read in the clinic in about fifteen minutes. See digital X-ray.

On-site lab

Our CLIA-certified lab runs CBC, metabolic panels, inflammatory markers, urinalysis, strep, flu, RSV, and COVID, with most results in fifteen to thirty minutes. See testing services.

Ultrasound and EKG

Point-of-care ultrasound for abdominal, pelvic, and soft-tissue imaging, plus a 12-lead EKG for cardiac evaluation, all on-site.

In-clinic IV therapy

Physician-ordered IV formulas for dehydration, illness recovery, and wellness, with complimentary red light therapy on in-clinic sessions.

Pediatric urgent care

Walk-in care for children six months and up: ear infections, strep, fevers, minor injuries, and rashes, in a family-friendly setting.

A physician examines you

A board-certified physician leads every shift

An urgent care can legally run with a non-physician provider leading every visit, and many chains do exactly that. The clinical judgment behind a decision, whether chest discomfort is musculoskeletal or cardiac, whether an abdominal pain is surgical, whether a headache warrants imaging, is the reason Sunny Isles patients come to us rather than the nearer walk-in storefronts. A board-certified physician leads every hour we are open.

Why patients pick us

Six reasons Sunny Isles residents choose TrufaMED

A boutique clinic with the capabilities of a small hospital, ten minutes from the Sunny Isles oceanfront. These are the reasons the drive south is worth it.

Ten minutes down Collins

Surfside sits between Sunny Isles and Miami Beach. Every luxury residence between 163rd Street and the Haulover Cut is within a ten to twelve minute drive of our front door.

Joint Commission accredited

The same audit body that accredits hospitals reviews our sterile technique, medication safety, infection control, and documentation. Florida has one accredited urgent care, and we are it.

Physician-led every hour

A board-certified MD on shift every hour we are open. Not a medical assistant, not phone-a-doc coverage. A licensed physician is the person examining you.

Eight languages spoken

English, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Hebrew, Italian, French, and Creole. Clinical conversations happen in your language, not through a translation line.

Everything under one roof

Digital X-ray, ultrasound, an accredited and CLIA-certified lab, and in-clinic IV therapy, all in the same building. Most visits end with the diagnosis, treatment, and prescription done.

Privacy that is respected

A quiet waiting room, private intake, self-pay honored, and records handled discreetly. We coordinate with your primary physician or concierge only with your consent.

Conditions we handle

Same-day care for the non-emergency

A physician examines, diagnoses, and treats the great majority of these in a single walk-in visit, including the bloodwork, imaging, or IV therapy the treatment needs.

For chronic conditions or ongoing management, see our Sunny Isles concierge membership. For elective wellness drips unrelated to illness, see Sunny Isles IV therapy.

Transparent self-pay

Clear pricing for visitors and self-pay patients

Most major plans cover standard urgent care visits, on-site imaging, lab draws, and medically indicated IV therapy. Paying cash? A self-pay visit starts at $195, with add-ons priced before you are seen.

Honest about our limits

When to skip urgent care and go straight to the ER

Most problems are urgent-care level. Some are not. If you are unsure, walk in; we triage on arrival, and if the findings warrant the ER, we stabilize and arrange transfer to Mount Sinai or Aventura Hospital.

Cardiac or stroke signs

For chest pain with concerning features, sudden weakness or facial droop, or trouble speaking, call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room.

Severe breathing difficulty

Significant shortness of breath, blue lips, or an asthma attack not responding to a rescue inhaler needs emergency care, not a walk-in clinic.

Major trauma or bleeding

Severe trauma, a head injury with loss of consciousness, or uncontrolled bleeding should go to a hospital emergency department by ambulance.

Severe abdominal pain

Sudden, severe, or worsening abdominal pain can signal a surgical emergency. When findings point that way, we stabilize and transfer directly.

For a true emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. TrufaMED treats non-life-threatening conditions.

Meet the physicians

Led by board-certified physicians

Our clinical leadership brings hospital-grade training in surgery and emergency medicine to a boutique walk-in setting minutes from the Sunny Isles oceanfront.

Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Uri Gedalia, MD, FACS
Board-Certified General Surgeon · Fellow, American College of Surgeons

Dr. Gedalia designed the clinical protocols, the diagnostic workflow, and the staffing model, and he continues to practice on-site. His surgical background means he can evaluate and treat on-site what would require a specialist referral elsewhere.

Medical Director
Dr. Shane D. Naidoo, MD
Board-Certified Emergency Medicine

Dr. Naidoo runs the clinical floor day to day, supervises the medical staff, and handles the highest-acuity cases that walk in from Sunny Isles, Bal Harbour, and Miami Beach. His emergency training brings calm, decisive judgment to every visit.

Joint Commission accreditation is earned by passing the same audit standards that accredit hospitals: sterile technique, medication safety, infection control, credentialing, and continuous improvement. Florida has one accredited urgent care, and TrufaMED is one of just eight nationwide.

Meet the full clinical team

Sunny Isles urgent care, answered

The questions our team answers most when Sunny Isles residents, residence owners, and hotel guests call ahead or arrive.

What is the closest urgent care to Sunny Isles Beach?

TrufaMED at 9445 Harding Avenue in Surfside is the closest physician-led urgent care to Sunny Isles Beach, about a ten-minute drive south on Collins Avenue, A1A, or Harding Avenue. We sit on the same barrier-island corridor as the Sunny Isles towers, so residents of Acqualina, the Trump Towers, Porsche Design Tower, and the Armani Residences reach us quickly. Walk in seven days a week, no appointment needed, with a board-certified physician leading every shift.

Do you speak Russian or Spanish?

Yes. Our team works in eight languages every day: English, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Hebrew, Italian, French, and Creole. That coverage matches the Sunny Isles population, which is heavily Russian, Latin American, Israeli, and European. History-taking, the exam, the diagnosis, and your medication instructions happen directly in your language, not through a phone-line interpreter.

Can my building concierge make a reservation for me?

Yes. We regularly coordinate with the concierge desks at Acqualina, the Trump Towers, Porsche Design Tower, the Armani Residences, Jade Beach, Jade Ocean, Mansions at Acqualina, and other Sunny Isles properties. Your concierge can call ahead to reserve your place in line and confirm physician availability, and our front desk teams at partner buildings have a direct line to the clinic.

Is TrufaMED a walk-in, or do I need an appointment?

Walk-in, seven days a week, no appointment required. You can also reserve your place in line through our online patient portal, which cuts your waiting-room time significantly. Hours are Monday to Friday 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday 12 PM to 8 PM.

Do you accept international insurance?

Our front desk processes most major US plans directly. For international coverage such as Cigna Global, BUPA, Allianz, AXA, GeoBlue, and IMG, we provide an itemized medical report in English at discharge that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement abroad. Many visiting and seasonal Sunny Isles residents pay self-pay at the time of the visit and file the claim later. Self-pay pricing is quoted up front.

Can I get IV fluids after a long flight?

Yes. In-clinic IV therapy is available every day we are open. For medical dehydration from vomiting, heat illness, or a virus, it is typically covered as part of a standard urgent care visit. For elective post-flight hydration or wellness drips such as Myers’ Cocktail, NAD+, or Hangover Recovery, pricing is transparent and self-pay. See our Sunny Isles IV therapy page for the full elective menu.

Can my child be seen there?

Yes. We provide pediatric urgent care for children six months and older: fever, ear infections, strep throat, stomach flu, rashes, and minor injuries. The clinic has pediatric-sized equipment and physicians experienced with children. For infants under six months, we have a low threshold to direct families to pediatric emergency services when the illness warrants it.

What if I need an X-ray or bloodwork?

Both are on-site. Digital X-ray is in-house, with results read inside the clinic in about fifteen minutes. Our Joint Commission-accredited, CLIA-certified lab (CLIA #10D2326945) runs CBC, metabolic panels, inflammatory markers, urinalysis, strep, flu, RSV, and COVID, with most results in fifteen to thirty minutes. The single-visit model is the advantage: diagnosis, imaging, labs, and treatment finished in one appointment.

How private is my visit?

Discretion is treated as a clinical standard. Quiet waiting area, private intake, and records never shared without your explicit consent, including no communication with your building’s concierge unless you ask for it. Many of our Sunny Isles patients choose self-pay specifically to keep the visit separate from their insurance, and we honor that without friction.

Can I get a prescription refill or a bridge refill from my home country?

Yes, within standard clinical judgment. Our physicians can bridge-prescribe most non-controlled medications after an in-person exam confirms the underlying condition. For controlled substances we follow standard DEA and Florida refill rules. Prescriptions are sent electronically to any pharmacy you choose, including the Bal Harbour Publix, the CVS at Sunny Isles, or a 24-hour Walgreens.

How much does a visit cost if I pay cash?

Self-pay pricing is transparent and quoted before you are seen. A physician visit starts at $195, with add-ons priced up front: digital X-ray from $120, EKG from $110, and a rapid strep or flu test from $60. Final cost depends on the services you need. There is no surprise billing and no balance bill weeks later. See our self-pay pricing page for the full sheet.

Can TrufaMED come to my residence instead of me coming in?

For elective IV therapy, yes. We offer mobile IV in Sunny Isles with a clinician dispatched to your residence or hotel suite. A full urgent care visit that needs imaging, bloodwork, or a procedure is best handled at the clinic. Residents who want a physician on call for ongoing care should ask about our Sunny Isles concierge membership, which includes house calls.
