Our standard

What separates TrufaMED

TrufaMED was built on a single conviction: patients in South Florida deserve more than a quick check-in and a printout. They deserve a physician who knows their name, a facility held to the highest accountability standard in American healthcare, and care that refuses to compromise between speed and depth.

Joint Commission accredited

The only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care in all of Florida. Independent, unannounced inspections confirm our clinical processes meet the same standards as leading hospitals.

A physician on every shift

A licensed physician leads every clinical encounter, not a mid-level provider. From a sports physical to complex IV therapy, physician oversight is non-negotiable.

CLIA-certified in-house lab

A CLIA-certified, moderate-complexity laboratory on-site runs a wide range of clinically meaningful tests with same-visit results, the standard typical of hospital labs, not basic waived labs.

Open seven days a week

Open every day including holidays, Monday to Friday 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday 12 PM to 8 PM. You are never forced to choose between convenience and quality.

Our story

Why we built TrufaMED

TrufaMED was founded in late 2019 with a single conviction: patients in South Florida deserved more than a quick check-in and a printout. They deserved a physician who knew their name, a facility held to the highest accountability standard in American healthcare, and a care model that refused to compromise between speed and depth.

TrufaMED began at the end of 2019 as a concierge medicine practice, born from the belief that healthcare should feel personal, attentive, and unhurried. In 2025, we expanded that same philosophy into a full-service urgent care clinic right here in Surfside, FL. The result is something rare: a walk-in clinic that delivers the quality and warmth of a private practice.

TrufaMED was born from a simple observation: the most underserved patients in South Florida were not those without means. They were those with options but no access to care that matched their standards. Residents of Surfside, Bal Harbour, and Miami Beach had no local facility that combined same-day physician availability, on-site diagnostics, and the kind of unhurried care associated with premier concierge practices.

Accreditation, by choice

From the first day of operation, TrufaMED committed to a model that the medical community rarely attempts: full accreditation from the Joint Commission, the same body that oversees major hospital systems, applied to an urgent care context. The Joint Commission’s rigorous, unannounced inspection process confirms that TrufaMED’s clinical protocols, medication management, patient rights practices, and quality improvement systems meet hospital-grade standards. No other urgent care in Florida has achieved this designation.

The clinical team was assembled with the same precision applied to the facility. Dr. Shane D. Naidoo, MD, Medical Director, brings board certification in Emergency Medicine. The nursing and clinical support team represents eight languages and a combined depth of experience that delivers both technical excellence and the cultural fluency South Florida’s diverse population deserves.

Physician-led, defined

What physician-led actually means

At TrufaMED

  • A board-certified physician makes or directly supervises every clinical decision, from ordering diagnostics to formulating an IV protocol.
  • A licensed physician reviews every chart, interprets every diagnostic image, and is physically present on every shift.
  • Patients are never handed off to a waiting room and never seen by staff operating outside physician oversight.

The industry default

  • Physician involvement is increasingly delegated to non-physician staff to lower cost.
  • Many clinics staff primarily mid-level providers, with a physician available only remotely or by phone.
  • “Physician-led” is often a marketing phrase rather than an operational fact.
Why it matters to you

What Joint Commission accreditation means

The Joint Commission accredits roughly 22,000 US healthcare organizations. Accreditation is voluntary and rigorous, involving unannounced site surveys by clinical evaluators who examine real patient records, medication storage, equipment maintenance, and staff competency in real time. When TrufaMED earned it, the only urgent care in Florida to do so, it met the same standards applied to major hospitals.

Continuous, not one-time

Unannounced inspections confirm standards are maintained continuously, and certification is renewed through ongoing surveys rather than a single audit.

Medication safety

Medication management and storage are verified against the same hospital protocols required of CMS-participating facilities.

Patient rights, documented

Patient-rights documentation is reviewed by independent evaluators, and quality-improvement processes are assessed and confirmed operational.

Clinical leadership
