Our Mission

The Standard That Separates TrufaMED

TrufaMED was founded in 2019 with a single conviction: patients in South Florida deserved more than a quick check-in and a printout. They deserved a physician who knew their name, a facility held to the highest accountability standard in American healthcare, and a care model that refused to compromise between speed and depth.

Joint Commission Accredited

The only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care in all of Florida. Accreditation means independent, unannounced inspections confirm our clinical processes meet the same standards as leading hospitals.

Board-Certified Physicians On Every Shift

A licensed physician leads every clinical encounter — not a mid-level provider. From a sports physical to complex IV therapy, physician oversight is non-negotiable at TrufaMED.

CLIA-Certified In-House Lab

A CLIA-certified moderate-complexity laboratory on-site means we can run a wider range of clinically meaningful tests — CBC, comprehensive metabolic panels, lipid profiles, rapid strep, flu, COVID, RSV, UTI, pregnancy, and more — with same-visit results. Moderate complexity is the standard typical of hospital labs, not basic waived labs.

Open 7 days (Mon–Fri 9 AM–9 PM, Sat 11 AM–11 PM, Sun 12 PM–8 PM)

TrufaMED is open every day of the year, including holidays, from Mon–Fri 9 AM–9 PM, Sat 11 AM–11 PM, Sun 12 PM–8 PM. Evening and weekend access means you are never forced to choose between convenience and quality.

Our Story

Why We Built TrufaMED

TrufaMED began in 2020 as a concierge medicine practice — born from the belief that healthcare should feel personal, attentive, and unhurried. In 2025, we expanded that same philosophy into a full-service urgent care clinic right here in Surfside, FL. The result is something rare: a walk-in clinic that delivers the quality and warmth of a private practice.

TrufaMED was born from a simple observation: the most underserved patients in South Florida were not those without means — they were those with options but no access to care that matched their standards. Residents of Surfside, Bal Harbour, and Miami Beach had no local facility that combined same-day physician availability, on-site diagnostics, and the kind of unhurried care associated with premier concierge practices.

From the first day of operation, TrufaMED committed to a model that the medical community rarely attempts: full accreditation from the Joint Commission, the same body that oversees major hospital systems, applied to an urgent care context. The Joint Commission’s rigorous, unannounced inspection process confirms that TrufaMED’s clinical protocols, medication management, patient rights practices, and quality improvement systems meet hospital-grade standards. No other urgent care in Florida has achieved this designation.

The clinical team was assembled with the same precision applied to the facility. Dr. Shane D. Naidoo MD, Medical Director, brings board certification in Emergency Medicine and The nursing and clinical support team represents eight languages and a combined depth of experience that delivers both technical excellence and the cultural fluency South Florida’s diverse population deserves.

What “Physician-Led” Actually Means

At TrufaMED, every clinical decision — from ordering diagnostics to formulating an IV therapy protocol — is made or directly supervised by a board-certified physician. This is a meaningful commitment in an industry where physician involvement has increasingly been replaced by delegation to non-physician staff.

The phrase “physician-led” is used throughout our marketing because it is operationally true. A licensed physician reviews every chart, interprets every diagnostic image, and is physically present on every shift. Patients are never handed off to a waiting room and never seen by staff operating outside the scope of physician oversight.

Why Joint Commission Accreditation Matters to You

The Joint Commission is a nonprofit organization that accredits approximately 22,000 US healthcare organizations and programs. Accreditation is voluntary, rigorous, and involves unannounced site surveys by clinical evaluators who examine real patient records, medication storage, equipment maintenance, and staff competency in real time.

When TrufaMED achieved Joint Commission accreditation — the only urgent care in Florida to do so — it underwent this scrutiny and was found to meet the same standards applied to major hospitals. That certification is renewed through ongoing surveys, not a one-time audit. It is the strongest independent quality signal available to healthcare consumers in the United States.

  • Unannounced inspections confirm standards are maintained continuously
  • Medication management and storage verified against hospital protocols
  • Patient rights documentation reviewed by independent evaluators
  • Quality improvement processes assessed and confirmed operational
  • Same accountability standard applied to hospitals earning CMS participation
Clinical Leadership

Meet the Physicians

TrufaMED is structured around two board-certified physicians whose credentials, specialties, and shared commitment to patient-centered care define the clinical culture of the practice.

Dr. Uri Gedalia, MD
Chief Medical Officer · General Surgeon

Dr. Gedalia is a Board-Certified General Surgeon. As Chief Medical Officer, he sets the clinical standards, oversees quality improvement, and ensures every operational decision is anchored in medical best practice. His surgical background provides a depth of diagnostic reasoning that distinguishes TrufaMED’s approach to acute and urgent presentations.

Dr. Shane D. Naidoo, MD
Medical Director · Emergency Medicine

Dr. Naidoo brings board certification in Emergency Medicine and serves as TrufaMED’s Medical Director. Emergency Medicine training is uniquely suited to urgent care because it develops rapid differential diagnosis, procedures under pressure, and the clinical judgment to recognize when a presentation requires escalation. Dr. Naidoo’s oversight ensures TrufaMED’s clinical protocols are built for precision, not just speed.
