Everything patients in Miami, Miami Beach, Bal Harbour, and Surfside ask before joining a TrufaMED concierge membership.
What is concierge medicine and how is it different from a regular doctor?
Concierge medicine is a membership-based healthcare model in which a physician limits the number of patients they see so they can provide truly personalized, unhurried care. Unlike a conventional primary care physician who may manage 2,000+ patients, a TrufaMED concierge physician maintains a small panel — giving each member direct cell phone and text access, same-day appointments, and extended consultations. The key difference is availability and continuity: your concierge doctor knows your medical history, your family, and your goals.
What is the difference between concierge medicine and Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) focuses exclusively on primary care visits for a flat monthly fee — it does not include diagnostics, urgent care, IV therapy, or specialist coordination within the practice. TrufaMED’s concierge membership is broader: it layers urgent care, on-site CLIA-certified lab, digital X-ray, IV therapy sessions, and wellness treatments into a single membership. You get a private doctor AND the full diagnostic and treatment infrastructure of an accredited clinical facility.
Does TrufaMED concierge medicine include 24/7 physician access?
Yes. All TrufaMED concierge membership tiers — VIP ($625/month), FAMILY+ ($2,000/month), and Signature (from $5,000/month) — include direct physician contact information. You can call or text your physician at any hour for clinical guidance, prescription renewal, urgent triage, or to arrange a same-day appointment or house call. Signature members additionally receive unlimited telehealth visits and unlimited house calls for true around-the-clock access.
How does TrufaMED concierge medicine work in Miami Beach and Bal Harbour?
Our clinic is located at 9445 Harding Ave in Surfside — under 5 minutes from Bal Harbour Shops and easily accessible from the Miami Beach barrier islands. Concierge members receive priority in-clinic scheduling with minimal wait times, telehealth access for remote consultations, and optional house calls via the Enhanced Concierge Home Care add-on. We serve patients across Miami Beach, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, Sunny Isles, and Aventura.
Is TrufaMED Joint Commission accredited?
Yes. TrufaMED is Florida’s only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care and concierge practice. The Joint Commission is the same organization that accredits the nation’s top hospital systems. This accreditation means our clinical protocols, facility standards, and patient safety practices have been independently verified to meet the highest standards in healthcare. Every concierge member benefits from this framework of care.
Are the TrufaMED concierge physicians board-certified MDs?
Yes — absolutely. Dr. Uri Gedalia MD is a board-certified General Surgeon and serves as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Shane D. Naidoo MD is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and serves as Medical Director. All TrufaMED concierge care is delivered by physician-level providers. We do not use non-physician providers as primary care contacts for our concierge members.
Does a concierge membership replace health insurance?
It can supplement it, though most members maintain insurance coverage for major events. The concierge membership gives you direct access to physician care for everyday, urgent, and wellness needs — eliminating the referral bottlenecks, prior authorizations, and impersonal appointments that make traditional insurance-based primary care frustrating. For patients without insurance, TrufaMED’s membership structure often represents a meaningful cost saving compared to fragmented out-of-pocket care across multiple providers.
What is included in a TrufaMED concierge membership — specifically?
Inclusions vary by tier. The VIP tier ($625/month) includes unlimited same-day appointments, direct physician texting, 2 telehealth visits/month, 5 IV therapies annually, 5 wellness treatments, 1 house call, and 1 Galleri cancer detection test. The FAMILY+ tier ($2,000/month) covers 4 family members with 10 IV therapies, 8 wellness treatments, pediatric consultations, and 2 house calls. The Signature tier (from $5,000/month) is unlimited across all categories, including house calls and IV therapies, plus a personal dedicated physician.
Can I get IV therapy as a concierge member?
Yes. IV therapy sessions are built into every membership tier — 5 per year in VIP, 10 per year (shared) in FAMILY+, and unlimited in Signature. Members can also add the Premier Wellness Add-On ($10,000/year) for unlimited IV therapy, peptide therapy, and advanced wellness treatments. TrufaMED offers 18 physician-formulated IV drips including Myers’ Cocktail, NAD+ infusions, Immune Boost, and more — all supervised by board-certified MDs.
Does TrufaMED offer after-hours care for concierge members?
Yes. While the clinic is open seven days a week (Mon–Fri 9 AM–9 PM, Sat 11 AM–11 PM, Sun 12 PM–8 PM), concierge members have direct physician contact outside these hours for clinical guidance, prescription needs, and urgent triage. For true medical emergencies, your physician will guide you to the appropriate level of care. The Enhanced Concierge Home Care add-on provides scheduled and emergency-flexible house calls for situations that require hands-on examination outside clinic hours.
How do I join TrufaMED concierge medicine in Miami or Miami Beach?
Call our team at (305) 537-6396 or reach out via WhatsApp at +1 (305) 842-9801. We will schedule a complimentary 30-minute intake consultation with Dr. Gedalia or Dr. Naidoo to discuss your health goals and recommend the membership tier that best fits your life. Membership activation takes less than 48 hours from first contact.
Can I still use my health insurance as a concierge member?
Yes. Your concierge membership covers enhanced access, extended appointments, and premium services at TrufaMED. For outside specialist visits, hospital stays, imaging, and prescriptions, your health insurance continues to apply as it normally would. We also assist with specialist referrals and coordinate care with your insurance-covered providers to ensure seamless continuity.
How quickly can I see my doctor if I get sick?
One of the primary benefits of concierge membership is priority access. Most members can secure a same-day or next-day appointment when needed. For urgent questions or concerns, you also have direct phone and text access to your care team, so you can get guidance quickly without scheduling a formal visit for every issue.
Is concierge medicine only for wealthy patients?
Not at all. While concierge medicine is often associated with high-net-worth individuals, TrufaMED designed its membership tiers to be accessible to a wider range of patients. When you consider the value of same-day access, longer appointments, proactive health monitoring, and the potential savings from catching health issues early, many members find that the membership more than pays for itself compared to reactive, fragmented care in the traditional system.
Can I bring my family on a concierge membership?
Yes. We offer individual and family membership options. Family plans extend the same concierge benefits — priority access, direct communication, annual assessments — to your spouse, partner, and children. This is particularly valuable for busy families who want coordinated, proactive healthcare managed by a single trusted physician who knows every member of the household.
How much does concierge medicine cost at TrufaMED?
TrufaMED concierge membership has three tiers: VIP at $625/month ($7,500/year), Family Plus at $2,000/month ($24,000/year), and Signature starting at $5,000/month ($60,000/year+). Each tier includes unlimited office visits, same-day appointments, 24/7 physician access, in-home visits, and integrated access to our full urgent care, IV therapy, HBOT, and testing services. See /concierge-services/ for the full comparison.
What is the difference between concierge medicine and direct primary care (DPC)?
Concierge medicine offers a premium doctor-patient relationship with 24/7 access, same-day visits, and house calls — while still billing insurance for covered services. Direct Primary Care (DPC) is subscription-only with no insurance billing — lower monthly fees ($50–$100) but you use insurance only for specialists, labs, imaging, and hospital care. Concierge is better for patients who want full insurance coordination; DPC for those minimizing insurance involvement.
Is concierge medicine worth it?
Concierge medicine makes financial sense for patients who (1) value immediate access to their physician, (2) have complex medical needs requiring coordination, (3) want preventive care with more than 15–20 minute appointments, or (4) live in or travel to areas with long specialist wait times. For basic healthy adults with simple needs, traditional primary care may be sufficient. See /blog/concierge-medicine-cost-worth-it-miami/ for a full ROI analysis.
Will my insurance work with TrufaMED concierge?
Yes — TrufaMED concierge membership is a complement to your existing insurance, not a replacement. Your membership fee covers the premium access (24/7, same-day, house calls). Covered medical services (labs, imaging, procedures, prescriptions) still bill your insurance normally. TrufaMED accepts most major commercial insurance plans. We do not accept Tricare. Medicare patients can still be members but we cannot bill Medicare for membership-included services.
Do TrufaMED concierge members get priority at the urgent care clinic?
Yes. Concierge members are prioritized for same-day appointments, skip waiting-room lines for urgent care, and can coordinate directly with their physician via text or phone. Signature-tier members get dedicated on-call 24/7 physician access and in-home visits. All tiers include unlimited office visits at our Surfside clinic.
Can TrufaMED concierge handle my family?
Yes — the Family Plus tier ($2,000/month) covers primary members plus spouse and dependents, with the same 24/7 access, same-day appointments, and unlimited visits. Family memberships cost less per person than individual memberships. We coordinate care across family members (pediatric, adult, preventive) in a single relationship with your physician.
What if I need a specialist or hospitalization?
TrufaMED concierge members get direct physician-to-physician referrals to top specialists across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach. Your concierge physician coordinates care, advocates for you during hospitalization, and manages specialist communication so nothing falls through the cracks. Your physician will personally communicate with any treating specialist or hospitalist.
How fast can I get an appointment as a concierge member?
Same-day or next-day appointments are guaranteed for concierge members. Urgent issues (fever, chest pain, injury) are seen immediately — members can text, call, or walk in. Non-urgent visits (annual physical, follow-up, wellness consultation) are typically scheduled within 24–48 hours. For Signature-tier members, after-hours and weekend physician access is included.
Do I get IV therapy and HBOT included with concierge membership?
Each tier includes a specific number of IV therapies and wellness treatments (see the feature matrix at /concierge-services/). VIP tier: 5 IV therapies + 5 wellness treatments per year. Family Plus tier: 10 IV + 8 wellness. Signature tier: unlimited IV therapies and wellness treatments. HBOT sessions are available at a member discount (20–30% off) for all tiers.
How do I become a TrufaMED concierge member?
Start with a complimentary 30-minute consultation (no cost or commitment). During that visit, you meet a physician, tour the clinic, and discuss your healthcare goals and which tier fits. If you enroll, onboarding includes a 60–90 minute comprehensive health assessment, full lab panel, and a personalized care plan. Call (305) 537-6396 or email
