HBOT for Miami Beach

The closest clinical HBOT to Miami Beach

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBOT, is a physician-supervised treatment in which you breathe 100% pure oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. The added pressure dissolves far more oxygen into your blood plasma than breathing room air ever could, and that oxygen reaches tissues that struggle to heal when blood flow is limited. Miami Beach patients use it for post-surgery recovery, wound healing, concussion and brain injury, and athletic recovery.

For residents of South Beach, Mid-Beach, and North Beach, the chamber is closer than the nearest hospital. Our hyperbaric suite sits at 9445 Harding Ave in Surfside, a straight run north up Collins Avenue, roughly 10 to 12 minutes from most of Miami Beach. Every patient is examined and cleared by a physician first, and every session is supervised, in the same Joint Commission-accredited facility that houses our on-site digital X-ray, labs, and IV therapy.

Your visit

How an HBOT session works

From the exam that clears you for therapy to the moment you walk out, here is what to expect at the Surfside suite.

Exam and clearance

Your first visit includes a physical exam and an on-site chest X-ray. Your physician reviews your history and confirms HBOT is safe and appropriate for you.

Settle into the chamber

You change into loose cotton clothing and leave electronics and jewelry outside. You lie comfortably in the chamber, free to rest, read, or sleep.

Pressure and pure oxygen

The chamber pressurizes to 1.6 ATA while you breathe 100% pure oxygen. You may feel a mild ear fullness that clears like it does on a plane.

Recover and drive home

A session runs 60 to 90 minutes. Most patients feel relaxed afterward and are back across the causeway in minutes, following the session count their physician set.

The mechanism

What pressure and pure oxygen actually do

HBOT is a precise physiological intervention, not a wellness trend. Pressure and protocol design are what separate a clinical outcome from a placebo.

Hyperoxygenation

Under pressure, oxygen dissolves directly into your blood plasma. Plasma oxygen can rise to many times its resting level, saturating tissues that red blood cells cannot reach when an area is inflamed or low on blood flow.

New blood vessels

Sustained high oxygen levels signal the body to build new capillary networks, a process called neovascularization. Better local circulation is what carries healing forward long after a session ends.

Less inflammation

Hyperbaric oxygen quiets the inflammatory cascade that drives swelling, bruising, and chronic pain, which is why it pairs so well with surgical recovery and injury rehab.

Stem cell mobilization

Research published in a peer-reviewed journal found that a 20-session HBOT protocol produced an 800% increase in circulating stem cells, the cells the body uses to repair and regenerate tissue.

Sharper recovery for the brain

Greater oxygen perfusion supports the brain’s neuroprotective pathways. It is one reason HBOT is studied for concussion, brain injury, and cognitive recovery.

Better tissue repair

More available oxygen accelerates the body’s natural wound-healing machinery, supporting faster repair after surgery, injury, or intense training. Many patients pair HBOT with IV therapy for recovery.

Not all chambers are equal

Why a hard clinical chamber matters

The chamber you sit in determines what your body actually receives. The real clinical difference is physician supervision and Joint Commission accreditation behind every session, not the unsupervised spa setups found around South Beach.

TrufaMED clinical HBOT

  • Physician-supervised soft-shell chamber
  • 1.6 ATA on 100% oxygen (hard-shell 3.0 ATA arriving late August 2026)
  • 100% pure oxygen delivered to the patient
  • Physician exam and clearance before therapy
  • Every session supervised at an accredited facility

Unsupervised spa or home units

  • No physician evaluation or supervision
  • Much lower pressure, near sea-level air
  • Ambient air rather than pure oxygen
  • Often no medical screening
  • Typically unsupervised, no clinical oversight
Conditions and uses

What HBOT supports

HBOT is used across a range of recovery and wellness goals. Explore a dedicated condition page, or ask your physician whether HBOT fits your situation.

Who benefits

Who a full HBOT protocol helps most

These are the patterns our physicians see most often among Miami Beach patients, each with its own protocol rationale.

Surgical patients

Patients before and after elective cosmetic, orthopedic, or reconstructive surgery. A common protocol builds oxygen reserves beforehand, then supports tissue repair and reduces swelling afterward.

Athletes and active adults

Competitive and amateur athletes recovering from injury or heavy training, who want faster tissue repair and less inflammation between sessions.

Slow-healing wounds

Patients with stubborn or diabetic wounds, where added oxygen reaches tissue that limited blood flow has left behind. See wound healing.

Brain injury recovery

People recovering from concussion or other brain injury, exploring HBOT for cognition and neuroprotection under physician guidance. See concussion care.

Post-procedure aesthetics

Patients after a cosmetic procedure who want a private, discreet setting near home and faster resolution of bruising and swelling.

Seasonal residents and visitors

Snowbirds and hotel guests staying along Collins Avenue who want a structured, physician-supervised recovery course during an extended stay in Miami Beach.

For non-life-threatening recovery and wellness needs. HBOT is not a substitute for emergency care. For a true emergency, call 911.

Safety first

When HBOT may need to wait

A few conditions can rule out therapy or require treatment first. This is exactly why the required exam and on-site chest X-ray come before your first session.

An untreated collapsed lung, certain lung diseases, and active sinus or ear congestion may prevent therapy until they are addressed. Some medications and recent treatments also need review. Your physician examines you, reviews your history, and gives you a clear answer before any session begins. That medical clearance is built into the $300 first visit, and it is what makes TrufaMED HBOT a clinical treatment rather than a spa add-on.

Physician oversight

The physicians overseeing your session

Your HBOT is directed by two board-certified physicians whose combined experience spans general surgery, emergency medicine, trauma, and wound care.

Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Uri Gedalia, MD, FACS
Board-Certified General Surgeon · Fellow, American College of Surgeons

Dr. Gedalia earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University and completed his surgical residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York. He serves as Regional Chief Medical Officer for a surgical and wound-care program, experience that shapes how TrufaMED designs HBOT protocols for surgical and wound recovery.

Medical Director
Dr. Shane D. Naidoo, MD
Board-Certified Emergency Medicine · AHA Heart Saver Hero

Dr. Naidoo brings extensive adult and pediatric emergency, trauma, and critical-care experience from high-volume emergency departments across the East Coast. His training means HBOT patients are screened and supervised by a physician who has handled the most acute clinical situations.

This physician-first standard is why TrufaMED carries Joint Commission accreditation, held by only eight urgent care centers in the United States. It is the same standard applied to major hospitals, and it governs every HBOT session.

What Miami Beach patients ask first

The questions patients across South Beach, Mid-Beach, North Beach, and the barrier islands ask before their first session.

How much does hyperbaric oxygen therapy cost near Miami Beach?

Pricing is transparent and all-inclusive. Your first visit is $300 and includes a full physical exam with an on-site chest X-ray plus your first session. Continuing care sessions are $150 each. The best-value Wellness Package, your evaluation plus 10 sessions, is $1,000, valued at $1,650 if booked individually. No hidden fees and no insurance pre-authorization needed for self-pay wellness HBOT.

How far is the HBOT center from Miami Beach?

About 10 to 12 minutes. Our hyperbaric suite is at 9445 Harding Ave in Surfside, a straight run north up Collins Avenue from South Beach, Mid-Beach, and North Beach. Most Miami Beach patients find it faster and far calmer than the larger hospital systems, and parking at the clinic is simple.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to book HBOT?

For self-pay wellness HBOT, no referral is needed. Our physicians evaluate you and set the protocol at your first visit. For the FDA-approved indications billed through insurance, a physician order with documented medical necessity is required. Either way, every patient is screened for contraindications before the first session.

What conditions and goals is HBOT used for?

Patients come for post-surgery and post-procedure recovery, slow-healing and diabetic wounds, concussion and brain-injury recovery, athletic recovery, and general wellness and anti-aging support. Many Miami Beach residents pair a course of HBOT with recovery from a cosmetic or orthopedic procedure. Your physician confirms whether HBOT fits your specific situation.

How many sessions will I need as a Miami Beach patient?

It depends on your goal. Many patients complete 5 to 10 sessions for athletic recovery and wellness, and 10 to 20 for post-surgical healing. Longer physician-directed protocols are used for wound care and concussion recovery. Because the clinic is minutes up Collins Avenue, most Miami Beach patients choose the 10-session package and let their physician set the exact count.

What does a session feel like, and how long does it take?

Most patients describe it as deeply relaxing. You lie comfortably in the chamber and breathe 100% pure oxygen. As the pressure rises you may feel a mild fullness in your ears, similar to an airplane descent, that clears by swallowing or yawning. A session runs 60 to 90 minutes, and many patients read, rest, or fall asleep.

Is HBOT safe, including for seniors?

Yes. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is well tolerated by most patients, including older adults. Every patient receives a comprehensive physical exam and medical clearance before the first session, and all therapy is supervised by our physicians at Florida’s only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care.

Why is a physical exam and chest X-ray required first?

A few conditions can rule out therapy or need treatment first, including an untreated collapsed lung, certain lung diseases, and active sinus or ear congestion. The exam with an on-site chest X-ray, built into your $300 first visit, lets your physician confirm HBOT is safe for you. It is what makes this a clinical treatment rather than a spa add-on.

Can I park nearby, and can a hotel guest book?

Yes to both. The Surfside clinic has straightforward parking, and visitors staying along Collins Avenue or in Bal Harbour book HBOT regularly during an extended stay. Sessions are by appointment and same-day booking is often available, so a quick drive north from your hotel is usually all it takes.
