For Sunny Isles Beach

Clinical HBOT, minutes from the Collins Avenue towers

Sunny Isles Beach is an international, seasonal community where residents expect medical care that matches the standard of the towers they call home. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has become a fixture of that longevity-minded approach, used for recovery after surgery and travel, for stubborn wounds, for athletic repair, and for the cognitive and skin benefits that draw a wellness-focused crowd. TrufaMED delivers it the clinical way, in a physician-supervised soft-shell chamber at 1.6 ATA with 100% pure oxygen, overseen by a physician at every session. A hard-shell chamber reaching 3.0 ATA arrives in late August 2026.

Our hyperbaric suite sits at 9445 Harding Ave in Surfside, a straight run south down Collins Avenue from the Acqualina, Porsche Design Tower, Jade Signature, and Ritz-Carlton Residences corridor. It is part of Florida’s only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care, the same facility that houses our on-site digital X-ray, labs, and IV therapy. For the full clinical picture, see our hyperbaric oxygen therapy overview.

Why TrufaMED

Why Sunny Isles Beach residents choose TrufaMED

A seasonal, international community deserves physician-supervised, accredited care. Here is what sets our hyperbaric suite apart for the residents of Florida’s Riviera.

A short drive south

Roughly 10 minutes down Collins Avenue from the Acqualina and Porsche Design Tower corridor, and even less from the southern end near Sunny Isles Pier. Free on-site parking, no valet, no waiting.

Clinical chamber

A physician-supervised, medical-grade soft-shell chamber delivering 100% pure oxygen at 1.6 ATA. A hard-shell chamber reaching 3.0 ATA arrives in late August 2026. Not the soft inflatable chambers sold for home use along the wellness circuit.

Eight languages

Our team speaks eight languages, which matters in a community where many residents are international and seasonal. Your visit is handled in the language you are most comfortable with.

Physician at every session

A board-certified physician examines and clears you first, then supervises your therapy. This is medicine, not a wellness add-on, at Florida’s only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care.

A full facility behind it

On-site digital X-ray, point-of-care ultrasound, labs, and EKG under one accredited roof, plus IV therapy and concierge care, so your protocol is supported start to finish.

Discreet and private

A calm, private setting suited to penthouse residents and executives who value discretion. You rest comfortably in your own chamber for the full session.

Who benefits

How Sunny Isles Beach patients use HBOT

These are the patterns our physicians see most often among residents along Collins Avenue and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Travel and jet-lag recovery

Penthouse residents and frequent flyers use HBOT to recover from long-haul travel, restoring energy and sleep faster after crossing time zones to and from Miami.

Cosmetic procedure recovery

Patients after aesthetic procedures want a private, discreet setting and faster resolution of bruising and swelling before returning to their social calendar.

Surgical recovery

A common protocol builds oxygen reserves before an elective procedure, then supports tissue repair and reduces swelling afterward. See post-surgery recovery.

Athletes and active adults

Residents who train hard use HBOT for faster tissue repair and less inflammation between sessions, often paired with IV therapy.

Slow-healing wounds

For stubborn or diabetic wounds, added oxygen reaches tissue that limited blood flow has left behind. See wound healing.

Brain and cognitive recovery

People recovering from concussion explore HBOT for cognition and neuroprotection under physician guidance. See concussion care.

For non-life-threatening recovery and wellness needs. HBOT is not a substitute for emergency care. For a true emergency, call 911.

Your visit

What to expect during your HBOT session

From the exam that clears you for therapy to the moment you head back up Collins, here is how a visit goes at the Surfside suite.

Exam and clearance

Your first visit includes a physical exam and an on-site chest X-ray. Your physician reviews your history and confirms HBOT is safe and appropriate for you. No referral needed.

Settle into the chamber

You change into loose cotton clothing and leave electronics and jewelry outside. You lie comfortably in the soft-shell chamber, free to rest, read, or sleep.

Pressure and pure oxygen

The chamber pressurizes to 1.6 ATA while you breathe 100% pure oxygen. You may feel a mild ear fullness that clears like it does on a plane.

Recover and head home

A session runs 60 to 90 minutes with zero downtime. Most patients feel relaxed and drive straight back to Sunny Isles, following the session count your physician set.

Not all providers are equal

Why a hard clinical chamber matters

The chamber you sit in determines what your body actually receives. The real clinical difference is physician supervision and Joint Commission accreditation behind every session, not an unsupervised home or inflatable device.

TrufaMED clinical HBOT

  • Physician-supervised soft-shell chamber
  • 1.6 ATA on 100% oxygen (hard-shell 3.0 ATA arriving late August 2026)
  • 100% pure oxygen delivered to the patient
  • Physician exam and clearance before therapy
  • Every session supervised at an accredited facility

Unsupervised spa or home units

  • No physician evaluation or supervision
  • Much lower pressure, near sea-level air
  • Ambient air rather than pure oxygen
  • Often no medical screening
  • Typically unsupervised, no clinical oversight

Physician oversight

The physicians overseeing your session

Your HBOT is directed by two board-certified physicians whose combined experience spans general surgery, emergency medicine, trauma, and wound care.

Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Uri Gedalia, MD, FACS
Board-Certified General Surgeon · Fellow, American College of Surgeons

Dr. Gedalia earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University and completed his surgical residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York. He serves as Regional Chief Medical Officer for a surgical and wound-care program, experience that shapes how TrufaMED designs HBOT protocols for surgical and wound recovery.

Medical Director
Dr. Shane D. Naidoo, MD
Board-Certified Emergency Medicine · AHA Heart Saver Hero

Dr. Naidoo brings extensive adult and pediatric emergency, trauma, and critical-care experience from high-volume emergency departments across the East Coast. His training means HBOT patients are screened and supervised by a physician who has handled the most acute clinical situations.

This physician-first standard is why TrufaMED carries Joint Commission accreditation, held by only eight urgent care centers in the United States. It is the same standard applied to major hospitals, and it governs every HBOT session.

Meet the clinical team

HBOT questions from Sunny Isles Beach patients

What residents along Collins Avenue and the surrounding neighborhoods ask before their first session.

How close is your HBOT clinic to Sunny Isles Beach?

About 10 minutes. Our hyperbaric suite is at 9445 Harding Ave in Surfside, a straight run south down Collins Avenue from Sunny Isles Beach. From the Acqualina and Porsche Design Tower corridor it is roughly 8 to 12 minutes by car; from the southern end near Sunny Isles Pier it is even shorter. Turn right on 96th Street, then left onto Harding Avenue. Free parking is available on site.

How much does hyperbaric oxygen therapy cost?

Your first visit is $300 and includes a full physical exam with an on-site chest X-ray plus your first session. Continuing care sessions are $150 each. The best value is our Sunny Isles Beach Wellness Package: $1,000 for the intake plus 10 sessions, valued at $1,650 if booked individually. There are no hidden fees.

What is the Sunny Isles Beach Wellness Package?

It is our best-value HBOT option: the initial evaluation (physical exam, on-site chest X-ray, and first session) plus 10 additional sessions for $1,000 total. Booked one at a time, the same course would run $1,650. It is built for residents committed to a full treatment or recovery protocol, which is most of what our physicians recommend for chronic conditions.

Why do Sunny Isles Beach residents choose TrufaMED for HBOT?

Sunny Isles Beach is an international, seasonal community where residents expect medical care that matches the standard of the towers they live in. TrufaMED delivers physician-supervised, hard-chamber HBOT at Florida’s only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care, minutes south on Collins. Our team speaks eight languages, which matters to the many international and seasonal residents who winter along Collins Avenue.

What does a typical HBOT session feel like?

Most patients describe it as deeply relaxing. You lie comfortably in a private soft-shell chamber and breathe 100% pure oxygen. As the pressure rises you may feel a mild fullness in your ears, similar to an airplane descent, which clears by swallowing or yawning. Sessions run 60 to 90 minutes with zero downtime afterward, so you can return to your day or your travel plans right away.

What is the difference between a hard chamber and a soft chamber?

TrufaMED uses a physician-supervised, medical-grade soft-shell hyperbaric chamber at 1.6 ATA on 100% oxygen. A hard-shell chamber reaching 3.0 ATA arrives in late August 2026. Our soft-shell chamber operates at 1.6 ATA and delivers 100% pure oxygen under physician supervision; the hard-shell chamber arriving in late August 2026 reaches up to 3.0 ATA. The soft inflatable chambers sold for home use or found at some spas operate at much lower pressures with ambient air, which is a fundamentally different treatment.

How many HBOT sessions will I need?

It depends on your goal and condition. Some patients notice benefits after a few visits. Chronic conditions and recovery protocols are usually built around a course of sessions that your physician sets after your exam. Our 10-session Wellness Package is designed for exactly this kind of structured course.

Is HBOT safe, and do I need a referral?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is well tolerated by most patients in a clinical setting, with serious side effects being rare. No referral is needed. Your first visit includes a comprehensive physical exam with an on-site chest X-ray so your physician can confirm HBOT is right for you. Every session is physician-supervised at a Joint Commission-accredited facility. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can book online.

What conditions can HBOT help with?

HBOT is used for post-surgery recovery, slow-healing and diabetic wounds, chronic inflammation and pain, concussion and brain injury, athletic recovery, anti-aging and skin, cognitive health, and immune support. For Sunny Isles Beach patients we often see long-haul travel and jet-lag recovery, recovery after cosmetic procedures, and protocols paired with concierge care. Your physician confirms the right plan during your first visit.

Can I combine HBOT with concierge medicine or IV therapy?

Yes. Many Sunny Isles Beach patients stack HBOT with our other services. You can pair sessions with IV therapy for recovery, or fold HBOT into a TrufaMED concierge membership for member pricing and direct physician access. Ask during your first visit and your physician will build a plan around your goals.
