Concierge medicine for Fisher Island

A physician who crosses the water to you

Fisher Island is reached only by private ferry, boat, or helicopter, which makes getting off the island for routine care a genuine inconvenience. TrufaMED reverses the direction: a board-certified physician travels to your residence or yacht, so the visit comes to you rather than the other way around.

Concierge medicine is a membership model. Instead of rushed visits and weeks-long waits, you get direct access to your own physician, longer appointments, a comprehensive annual assessment, and in-residence care, for a monthly or annual fee. TrufaMED deliberately keeps enrollment small, so your physician knows your history, your household, and your preferences. For a community where privacy and time are the real currency, that is the entire point. See the membership tiers.

Why TrufaMED

Built for the way Fisher Island lives

The 33109 zip code is consistently among the highest-income communities in the United States, home to business principals, public figures, and international families who expect their physician to match that standard. TrufaMED was built for exactly this: clinical credentials, accreditation, and the operational discipline to deliver premium medicine reliably, on a private island where the nearest hospital is a ferry ride away.

Behind every visit is a Joint Commission-accredited facility with on-site digital X-ray, point-of-care ultrasound, comprehensive lab testing, and EKG, plus IV therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and advanced cancer screening. A house call at your residence tonight, a full facility across the water tomorrow. You are not buying access to a single office. You are buying a complete healthcare relationship.

The house call, done right

When the doctor comes to you, so does the equipment

Most house calls end with advice and a referral. A TrufaMED visit is a complete clinical encounter led by a board-certified surgeon and an emergency physician who arrive equipped to treat on the spot, in your residence or aboard your vessel, with an accredited facility across the water for anything that needs more.

Care at your residence

Vitals, examination, point-of-care diagnostics, and full prescription authority, all conducted in your home, on your schedule, without an audience. The visit comes to you, not the reverse.

Onboard yacht visits

Your physician boards with a kit built for the setting: IV capability, point-of-care labs, ECG, and emergency medications. A laceration, a sting, or sunstroke is handled at the dock, not on the mainland.

Labs and rapid testing

In-residence blood draws and rapid infectious-disease testing during the visit. Specimens are processed at our CLIA-certified lab (CLIA #10D2326945), with most results the same day or the next morning.

Concierge pharmacy coordination

Prescriptions routed to a compounding or retail pharmacy and delivered to your residence or marina, so there is no pharmacy run. Specialty medications and IV formulations are coordinated directly through your physician.

Minor procedures and wound care

Sutures, abscess drainage, splinting, and post-surgical wound care handled in the room by a board-certified surgeon, with digital X-ray at the clinic across the water whenever imaging is needed.

Pre-flight and travel medicine

Hydration IV, anti-nausea, a pre-flight clearance letter, and travel prescriptions filled before a private departure, plus destination-specific vaccination protocols and a tailored travel medical kit.

Getting to you

Private ferry and boat access, coordinated for you

Fisher Island lies about one nautical mile from Miami Beach. The travel that complicates everyday life on the island becomes the physician’s job, not yours.

The usual island problem

Routine care means leaving the island. The ferry schedule, the drive on the mainland, the wait once you arrive, and the ferry back can turn a fifteen-minute appointment into half a day. For a sudden illness, an after-hours concern, or an aging parent, that friction is exactly when it matters most.

How TrufaMED works

Your physician travels by arrangement, coordinated privately through their direct line. Total land-and-ferry time for an urgent visit runs about 25 minutes, and members with marina berths can arrange direct boat access. Signature members receive priority scheduling for in-residence and onboard care. No waiting room, no island logistics to manage.

Our Surfside clinic is at 9445 Harding Ave, about 25 minutes from Fisher Island by land and ferry. For members who prefer clinic visits, same-day appointments are held with no waiting-room exposure, and private entry can be arranged.

Privacy and reach

Discretion treated as a clinical standard

Fisher Island residents place an extraordinary premium on privacy. TrufaMED is structured so your care stays entirely your own, and so a global household can rely on one physician relationship.

Absolute discretion

Every interaction is conducted under HIPAA and a physician’s duty of confidentiality. We do not discuss patient relationships, visit frequency, or care details with any third party, ever.

Protocols for public profiles

Non-public scheduling, discreet billing, and written confidentiality arrangements with household staff who have clinical access are available at enrollment for members who need them.

Care in your first language

Our clinical team collectively speaks eight languages, including Russian, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, and Hebrew. Nuance is easily lost in translation; here it is not.

Specialist coordination

Your physician integrates care with specialists in New York, Los Angeles, London, or anywhere you keep relationships, managing records, pre-appointment labs, and follow-up so nothing falls between providers.

International travel medicine

Travel consultations, destination vaccination protocols, international pharmacy coordination, and a tailored medical kit, with your physician available by phone while you are away.

Household and estate staff

Domestic staff, security personnel, and estate management teams can be covered under a separate, discreet arrangement that maintains clear privacy boundaries between employer and staff records.

Membership benefits

Concierge in practice

The concierge doctor you have imagined, made real

Direct line to your physician. House calls at home, hotel, condo, or yacht. A board-certified MD who arrives equipped to handle the visit on the spot, with a Joint Commission accredited clinic five minutes away for anything that needs more. This is concierge medicine the way it should look.

The Midnight Call

You don’t call a service. You don’t call a hospital. You call Dr. Gedalia or Dr. Naidoo directly (the same physician who knows your history) and a clinical plan starts inside the first minute.

The Hotel-Suite Visit

A guest visiting from out of town (or you, mid-trip in Miami) falls ill in a hotel suite. The physician comes to the room with portable diagnostics, runs the workup, and writes prescriptions the concierge desk can collect.

On the Water

A charter day on the bay turns into a laceration, a jellyfish sting, a sunstroke, an allergic reaction. The physician meets the boat at the dock with the kit to handle it on the spot: sutures, IV fluids, antihistamines, the works.

The Pre-Flight Workup

Hours before a private flight: hydration IV, B-complex, anti-nausea, a signed pre-flight clearance letter, travel prescriptions filled. Your jet leaves with the cabinet already stocked and the medical paperwork already done.

The Discreet Consult

Sexual health. Mental health. Fertility. Performance. Handled in your home or by encrypted call: no waiting room, no front-desk check-in, no chart sitting in a clinic lobby with your name on it.

The Second Opinion

A surgeon has told you a procedure is necessary. Before you say yes, a board-certified physician reads every page of your record, every image, calls the specialist, and walks you through what you actually need.

The Hospital Escort

When a case needs imaging, admission, or workup only a hospital can deliver, your TrufaMED physician personally accompanies you to the ER. They brief the attending, read the labs and images in real time, coordinate the admission if it comes to that, and stay until the plan is right. You have a physician advocate in the room until you walk out.

What Arrives With the Physician

Portable ultrasound. Point-of-care labs. IV start kit. Suture and minor-procedure kit. ECG. Pulse oximetry. Emergency medications. Full prescription authority. Everything needed to handle the visit on the spot.

What’s Five Minutes Behind

A Joint Commission accredited Surfside clinic with X-ray, advanced lab, IV bay, hyperbaric oxygen, and same-day specialty referrals to Mount Sinai Miami Beach, HCA Aventura, UM Health, Jackson Memorial, Cleveland Clinic, and Baptist Health, for anything the house call can’t resolve.

Your concierge physicians

Board-certified physicians, not a brand

Most concierge practices rely on a single generalist. TrufaMED is led by two board-certified physicians whose combined experience spans general surgery, emergency medicine, trauma, and wound care, the depth a private island environment can call for.

Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Uri Gedalia, MD, FACS
Board-Certified General Surgeon · Fellow, American College of Surgeons

Dr. Gedalia is a board-certified general surgeon and the managing physician of TrufaMED. He oversees the concierge program and maintains personal physician relationships with Signature members. His background spans trauma surgery, wound care, and comprehensive primary medicine, an unusually broad scope that lets him evaluate and treat on-site what would require a specialist referral elsewhere. Fluent in English and Hebrew.

Medical Director
Dr. Shane D. Naidoo, MD
Board-Certified Emergency Medicine · AHA Heart Saver Hero

Dr. Naidoo serves as Medical Director and brings emergency medicine board certification and residency experience from a high-acuity trauma center. He is the physician of first contact when members face acute or uncertain situations, with particular depth in cardiology screening and acute illness management. His presence means Fisher Island members have emergency-medicine-trained physician access at the concierge level, a combination that is genuinely rare.

This physician-first approach is why TrufaMED carries Joint Commission accreditation, a distinction held by only eight urgent care centers in the United States. It is the same standard applied to major hospitals, and it governs every part of our concierge program.

Questions about Fisher Island care

What Fisher Island residents ask before a private conversation.

How does a TrufaMED physician reach Fisher Island for a house call?

Fisher Island sits about one nautical mile off Miami Beach and is reached only by private ferry, boat, or helicopter. Your physician travels by the same routes you do, scheduled privately through their direct line. For most visits, total land-and-ferry travel runs about 25 minutes, and members with marina berths can arrange boat access directly to the residence or vessel. There is no waiting room and no island logistics for you to manage; the visit comes to your door.

Can a physician treat me aboard my yacht at Fisher Island?

Yes. For onboard visits, your physician arrives with a clinical kit built for the setting: IV capability, point-of-care labs and rapid testing, a 12-lead ECG, pulse oximetry, and emergency medications appropriate to a marine environment. Yacht visits are scheduled at least four hours in advance so travel and safety can be coordinated. A laceration, an allergic reaction, sunstroke, or dehydration on the water can be handled on the spot rather than ending a day on the bay with a trip to the mainland.

How is privacy protected for high-profile Fisher Island members?

Discretion is treated as a clinical standard. Every interaction is conducted under HIPAA and a physician’s duty of confidentiality, and we do not discuss patient relationships, visit frequency, or care details with anyone. For members with public profiles, additional protocols are available at enrollment: non-public appointment scheduling, discreet billing, and written confidentiality arrangements with any household staff who have clinical access. Care happens in your residence, on your schedule, without an audience.

Is the concierge program physician-led, or do staff handle urgent calls?

It is physician-led at every level. Members enroll with a specific physician, Dr. Gedalia or Dr. Naidoo, who serves as their personal physician. Urgent calls and acute questions reach that physician directly, not a nurse line or on-call staff. No mid-level provider substitutes for physician access in the concierge program. When you call, you reach a board-certified MD who already knows your history. For non-life-threatening urgent needs; for a true emergency, call 911.

Why does an emergency-trained physician matter for island care?

On a private island, the nearest hospital is a ferry ride away, so the first clinician on the scene matters. Dr. Naidoo is board-certified in emergency medicine and Dr. Gedalia is a board-certified general surgeon, both trained in high-acuity trauma settings before building TrufaMED. When something acute happens, a cardiovascular concern, a surgical issue, a pediatric crisis, your physician assesses, manages, and decides rather than simply referring the call onward. That clinical depth is uncommon in concierge medicine, which is usually built around primary care alone.

Which languages do TrufaMED physicians speak?

Fisher Island’s resident community spans Brazil, Russia, Israel, Venezuela, France, Italy, Argentina, and the United States, and our clinical team collectively speaks more than eight languages, including Russian, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, Hebrew, and English. Care in your first language is treated as a clinical priority, not a courtesy, because nuance is easily lost in translation. Indicate your language preference at enrollment and we match you with a physician accordingly.

Can TrufaMED coordinate with my specialists in other cities?

Yes. Many Fisher Island residents keep relationships with specialists in New York, Los Angeles, London, and elsewhere, and coordinating that care is a core part of the membership. Your physician receives records, arranges pre-appointment lab work, follows up on recommendations, and keeps continuity between providers so nothing falls through the gaps. TrufaMED acts as your integrating physician, the medical quarterback, rather than a replacement for the specialists you already trust.

Does TrufaMED accept insurance for concierge membership?

Concierge membership fees are self-pay and are not billed to insurance, though many members use HSA or FSA funds for eligible services. Specific clinical services rendered during in-office visits, such as labs, imaging, and procedures, can be billed through our Joint Commission-accredited, CLIA-certified facility for covered members. See our membership page for the full picture and the team can review your coverage during the consultation.

Is the membership available year-round for seasonal residents?

Yes. The membership is built around seasonal residency patterns. Many Fisher Island residents keep it year-round for continuity, so the same physician carries their history and family context from one season to the next, and telehealth keeps care continuous when they are away. In-person care resumes the moment you return for the Miami season, with no re-onboarding and no new physician to brief.

How do I get started with a Fisher Island concierge membership?

It begins with a private conversation, by phone or in person, with no paperwork before the conversation and no portal to navigate. A physician speaks with you directly, reviews your goals and history, and recommends the membership that fits your household. Call (305) 537-6396 or message us on WhatsApp at +1 (305) 842-9801. Enrollment is offered to a limited number of Fisher Island families so panels stay small by design.
