A short drive up Collins, once you reach the mainland
The ferry from the Fisher Island terminal lands beside the MacArthur Causeway near South Beach. From there, Collins Avenue runs north and becomes Harding Avenue as it enters Surfside, leading almost the whole way to our door at 9445 Harding Avenue.
Register before you board
Use online self-registration while you wait for the ferry. Your intake and reason for visit are captured before you arrive, so most pre-registered patients are seen within minutes of walking in.
One straight road north
From the causeway dock, Collins Avenue carries you up through Miami Beach and Bal Harbour into Surfside, where it becomes Harding. We are on Harding at 9445, with handicap-accessible parking at the entrance.
Open when you arrive
Monday to Friday 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM to 11 PM, Sunday 12 PM to 8 PM, seven days a week including most holidays. No appointment needed, walk in anytime during open hours.

Physician-supervised IV fluids for dehydration, heat illness, migraine, and post-viral recovery, plus elective wellness IV therapy.

Pink eye, rashes, insect bites, allergic reactions, and asthma flare-ups, evaluated and treated the same visit.
Pediatric urgent care
Walk-in care for children three months and up: ear infections, strep, fever, minor injuries, and rashes, in a family-friendly setting.

When to call 911 instead of catching the ferry
Urgent care is the right level for most non-emergency problems. For a true emergency on the island, do not wait for a ferry. Call 911 first and let them coordinate marine or air transport.
Life-threatening emergencies
For chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, or uncontrolled bleeding, call 911 immediately from the island. Do not attempt the crossing yourself.
Major surgery
We do not perform inpatient surgery, cardiac procedures, or complex operations. We can evaluate you and refer you to the right surgical specialist.
Labor and delivery
We provide OB and GYN ultrasound imaging but do not deliver babies. Please contact your OB or a hospital labor and delivery unit.

Dr. Naidoo leads the clinical team as Medical Director. Board-certified in emergency medicine with deep expertise in adult and pediatric emergency care, trauma, and critical care. He completed his residency and emergency medicine board certification at Brookdale Hospital in New York.
Dr. Gedalia is TrufaMED’s Chief Medical Officer and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Board-certified in general surgery with extensive experience in procedural medicine, wound care, and advanced diagnostics. He oversees clinical protocols across all TrufaMED services.

Is there an urgent care on Fisher Island?
No. Fisher Island has no walk-in urgent care or hospital on the island itself. When residents need same-day care, they take the ferry to the mainland, which lands beside the MacArthur Causeway near South Beach, then drive a short way up Collins Avenue to a clinic. How do I get to TrufaMED from Fisher Island?
Take your usual ferry from the Fisher Island terminal across to the MacArthur Causeway dock, then drive north up Collins Avenue to 9445 Harding Avenue in Surfside. Collins becomes Harding as it enters Surfside, so it is one straight road most of the way. We are open seven days a week with late hours, and you can self-register online before you board the ferry so the front desk is ready when you arrive.
Can a doctor come to me on Fisher Island instead?

What can TrufaMED treat once I make the trip over?
The full range of non-emergency conditions in a single visit: fever and flu, strep, sinus and ear infections, urinary tract infections, allergic reactions, sprains and suspected fractures, lacerations that need stitches, burns, rashes, and dehydration. Because we have on-site digital X-ray, a CLIA-certified lab, ultrasound, and EKG, most patients are diagnosed and treated in the same visit. We also handle sports, school, and immigration physicals.
Do you have X-ray and lab testing on-site?
Yes. Our Surfside clinic has a digital X-ray suite for fractures, dislocations, and chest imaging, read by a physician in about ten minutes, plus a CLIA-certified lab running rapid strep, flu, COVID, RSV, mono, urinalysis, pregnancy, and basic chemistry and blood-count panels. Point-of-care ultrasound and a 12-lead EKG are available too. This on-site diagnostic depth is what makes the ferry trip worth it.
How long does a visit take, including the ferry?
The clinical visit itself usually runs about 23 minutes, and most patients are in and out within an hour. The ferry and the drive up Collins add the rest. To keep the mainland portion short, register online before you leave the island so your intake is done before you arrive, and most pre-registered patients are seen within minutes of walking in.
Who will see me at TrufaMED?
A board-certified physician leads every shift and is involved in your care, supported by experienced nurses. Our Medical Director is Dr. Shane D. Naidoo (Emergency Medicine) and our Chief Medical Officer is Dr. Uri Gedalia (General Surgery, FACS). For a private island where the nearest hospital is across the water, having an emergency-trained physician leading the room genuinely matters.
How much does a visit cost without insurance?
A self-pay urgent care visit starts at $195 for a physician evaluation. Add-on services start from: digital X-ray $320 (physician interpretation included), EKG $110, and a rapid strep or flu test $60. Pricing is shared up front with no surprise billing, and many international visitors use our published self-pay receipts for reimbursement through their home insurer. Do you accept insurance, and do you treat visitors staying on the island?
Yes to both. We accept most major commercial and federal plans, including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Oscar Health (urgent care), and Medicare, and self-pay patients are always welcome. Guests of the Fisher Island Club, seasonal residents, and visitors are all seen the same way as residents. Bring an insurance card if you have one; many out-of-state plans are processable, and our front desk verifies benefits at check-in.
Is this better than going to the emergency room?
For non-life-threatening problems, yes. Urgent care means a shorter wait, an equivalent evaluation for most conditions, and a fraction of the cost of an ER visit. For a true emergency, chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, or uncontrolled bleeding, call 911.
