The only one in Florida

A trusted walk-in clinic while you are in the Miami area

Palm Beach is about seventy miles north of us, so this is not a clinic around the corner from home. It is the clinic to know when you are spending part of the year on the Miami Beach side, staying in Surfside, Bal Harbour, or Sunny Isles, or down for the day shopping at Bal Harbour. TrufaMED is a physician-led walk-in clinic in Surfside, Florida’s only Joint Commission accredited urgent care, with on-site digital X-ray, labs, ultrasound, and EKG handled in a single visit.

Continuity of care between Palm Beach and Miami

If you live between two homes, a sudden illness should not mean starting from scratch with a clinic that does not know you. We make care simple while you are here and easy to hand back when you head north.

Seasonal residents welcome

Snowbirds and part-year residents make up a real share of who we see. Walk in any day you are in town, and we keep a record so your next visit picks up where the last one left off.

Easy self-pay for travelers

Published, upfront pricing means no surprise bills. Visiting from outside the US? Our front desk provides itemized receipts that most foreign insurers reimburse against.

Records sent to your physician

We forward your visit notes and imaging to your physician up north, so a walk-in visit here fits cleanly into the care you already have.

Telehealth after you head back

Need a recheck once you are back in Palm Beach? A flat $125 telehealth visit handles follow-ups and results review without a drive.

Full-spectrum care under one roof

Walk in for anything from a sudden fever to a suspected fracture. Every service below is available same-day, with no referral and no appointment.

Walk-in urgent care

Fever, flu, strep, UTIs, infections, allergic reactions, and minor injuries, diagnosed and treated in one visit under physician oversight.

Digital X-ray

On-site imaging for sprains, fractures, chest, ribs, and abdomen, read by a physician in about ten minutes. No referral, no second trip.

Lab testing

A CLIA-certified on-site lab: CBC, metabolic panel, strep, flu, COVID, RSV, mono, UTI, and pregnancy, with rapid same-day results.

Ultrasound and EKG

Point-of-care ultrasound for abdominal, soft-tissue, and vascular questions, plus a 12-lead EKG for cardiac evaluation, all bedside.

IV hydration and medical IV

Physician-supervised IV fluids for dehydration, heat illness, migraine, and post-viral recovery, covered by most insurance when clinically indicated. Elective wellness IV therapy is offered separately.

Pediatric urgent care

Walk-in care for children three months and up: ear infections, strep, fevers, minor injuries, rashes, and sports physicals, in a calm, family-friendly setting.

Physicals and paperwork

Sports physicals, school forms, and immigration physicals (I-693), most completed in a single visit.

Same-day prescriptions

Antibiotics, antivirals, anti-nausea, and pain relief prescribed on the spot, e-prescribed to any pharmacy in Miami-Dade or sent to your pharmacy back home.

Walk in, seen by a physician, out the door

Most visits run about 23 minutes start to finish, with an average door-to-doctor wait under four minutes. Here is how it goes.

Walk in or self-register

Arrive any time during open hours, or self-register online first to shave time at the front desk. The front desk verifies your benefits or confirms your self-pay rate before you are seen.

See the physician

A board-certified physician leads every shift and evaluates you directly in a private exam room, with experienced nurses supporting your care.

Tests read the same visit

If you need an X-ray, labs, ultrasound, or an EKG, it happens on-site and is read before you leave. No referral, no separate imaging appointment.

Leave with a plan

You leave with a diagnosis, any prescriptions sent to your pharmacy, and clear next steps. We forward records to your physician up north and can follow up by telehealth.

The Joint Commission National Quality Approval Gold Seal

Florida’s only accredited urgent care

TrufaMED is the only Joint Commission accredited urgent care in Florida, and one of just eight nationwide. The gold seal is the same independent standard major hospital systems are held to, a rigorous review of patient safety, clinical quality, infection control, and medication safety. For a visitor choosing a clinic in an unfamiliar city, it is the clearest signal that the care you receive here meets a hospital-grade bar.

When urgent care beats the emergency room

For non-emergency care, an unfamiliar city’s emergency room means a long wait and a large bill. TrufaMED gives you emergency-room-level diagnostics and physician expertise without the wait, the cost, or the chaos.

Visiting from Palm Beach, answered

What seasonal residents and visitors ask before walking in.

I split my time between Palm Beach and Miami. Can TrufaMED be my urgent care while I am down here?

Yes. Many of our patients are seasonal residents and Palm Beach families who spend part of the year on the Miami Beach side. When you are staying in Surfside, Bal Harbour, or along the beaches, you can walk in to TrufaMED any day for non-emergency care, and a board-certified physician leads every shift. We can also send your records to your physician up north and follow up by telehealth after you head back, so your care stays continuous.

I am visiting the Miami area from Palm Beach. Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk-in care is available seven days a week during all open hours (Monday to Friday 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM to 11 PM, Sunday 12 PM to 8 PM). If you want to shorten your time at the front desk, you can self-register online in about two minutes before you arrive. Visitors, snowbirds, and out-of-town families are welcome.

How long is a typical visit?

Most patients are in and out in about 23 minutes, and the average door-to-doctor wait is under four minutes. A simple illness visit with no imaging runs shorter; a visit that includes X-ray, several labs, or an IV takes longer. We prioritize a real physician evaluation over rushing you out, and we do not drag visits out either.

What does a visit cost if I am paying out of pocket?

Self-pay is simple and the price is published up front, which travelers appreciate. A physician visit starts at $195. Add-on services start from: digital X-ray $320 (physician interpretation included), EKG $110, and a rapid strep or flu test $60. Final cost depends on the services you need, and we share it before you are seen, with no surprise billing. If you are visiting from outside the US, our front desk provides itemized self-pay receipts that most foreign insurers reimburse against.

Will you take my insurance if my plan is based up north?

Most major commercial and federal plans are accepted in-network, including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Oscar Health (urgent care), Medicare, and Medicare Advantage. Many out-of-state plans are processable as well. Our front desk verifies your benefits at check-in and explains your copay up front. If your plan is not listed, call (305) 537-6396 and we will check before you come in.

Who will see me at TrufaMED?

A board-certified physician leads every shift and is involved in your care, supported by experienced nurses. Our Medical Director is Dr. Shane D. Naidoo (Emergency Medicine) and our Chief Medical Officer is Dr. Uri Gedalia (General Surgery, FACS). This is the physician-led standard you would expect from a Joint Commission-accredited facility.

Do you have X-ray and labs on-site, or will I be sent elsewhere?

Everything is on-site and read the same visit. Digital X-ray results are read by a physician in about ten minutes for suspected fractures, pneumonia, or soft-tissue injury. Our CLIA-certified lab runs rapid strep, flu, COVID, and RSV, plus CBC, metabolic panels, urinalysis, and pregnancy testing. Point-of-care ultrasound and a 12-lead EKG are available bedside. You do not need a referral and you do not leave to get imaging done.

Can my child be seen here while we are visiting?

Yes. We see children three months and older every day: fever, ear infections, strep, pink eye, stomach bugs, rashes, asthma flares, minor injuries, and sports physicals. Our clinic has pediatric-sized equipment and physicians experienced with children. Infants under three months with concerning symptoms are evaluated and referred to pediatric emergency care when warranted.

How is this different from going to the emergency room?

For non-life-threatening issues such as a sore throat, UTI, sprained ankle, stitches, sinus infection, flu, or minor fracture, urgent care is almost always the better choice: the wait is shorter, the evaluation is equivalent, and the cost is a fraction of an ER visit. For genuine emergencies such as chest pain, stroke symptoms, major trauma, severe allergic reactions, or uncontrolled bleeding, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. We escalate to the ER from our clinic when a finding calls for it.

Can you help me follow up after I head back to Palm Beach?

Yes. We offer physician-led telehealth visits seven days a week for follow-ups, medication questions, and results review, so you do not have to drive back down for a recheck. Telehealth is a flat $125 self-pay visit. We can also forward your visit records and imaging to your physician up north. Book at trufamed.com/telehealth/ or call (305) 537-6396.
