How long does it take to be seen at a walk-in clinic?

Walk into TrufaMED and you are typically seen by a board-certified physician within about five minutes. The visit averages 20 to 45 minutes from arrival to departure, a fraction of the three to four hours a comparable ER trip would take. On-site digital X-ray, a CLIA-certified lab, ultrasound, EKG, and IV therapy mean you usually leave with a diagnosis, a plan, and your prescriptions in one visit. No appointment, no referral, seven days a week.

The walk-in experience

No appointment, no portal, no four-hour wait

When you need care right now, you should not have to navigate booking systems or sit in an ER lobby for the afternoon. A true walk-in clinic removes all of it. Here is how a visit works.

1

Walk in or check in online

Arrive any time during open hours, no appointment needed. Pre-register at register.trufamed.com to shorten your check-in, or simply come to the front desk on Harding Avenue.

2

See a physician in a private room

A board-certified physician evaluates you in a private exam room, not a non-physician provider. On-site X-ray, labs, and ultrasound run during the same visit when they are needed.

3

Leave with a plan

You leave with a diagnosis, a treatment plan, and prescriptions e-sent to any pharmacy in Miami-Dade, usually in under an hour from the moment you walked in.

What you can walk in for

Full-service care, same day, under one roof

Walk in for anything from a sudden fever to a suspected fracture. Every service below is available same day, with no appointment and no referral.

Walk-in urgent care

Fever, flu, strep, UTIs, ear and sinus infections, allergic reactions, and minor injuries, diagnosed and treated in one visit under physician oversight.

Digital X-ray

On-site imaging for sprains, fractures, chest, ribs, and abdomen, read by the physician during your visit, usually within about ten minutes. No referral.

On-site lab testing

A CLIA-certified lab running CBC, chemistry, strep, flu, RSV, COVID, mono, UTI, and pregnancy, with most rapid results in 15 to 30 minutes.

Ultrasound and EKG

Point-of-care ultrasound for abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN, and soft-tissue imaging, plus a 12-lead EKG for cardiac evaluation, all on-site.

IV therapy and mobile drips

Physician-ordered IV formulas from $195 for dehydration, recovery, and immune support, with complimentary red light therapy on in-clinic sessions, or mobile IV to your hotel or condo.

Physicals and forms

Sports physicals, school forms, pre-employment exams, and travel clearance. Walk in and leave with the form completed the same day.

Confidential testing

Private, discreet sexual health testing and screenings in a boutique setting, with rapid results and same-day treatment when appropriate, fully HIPAA-compliant.

Pediatric walk-in care

Walk-in care for children three months and older: ear infections, strep, fevers, minor injuries, and rashes, with a board-certified physician evaluating every child.

Same-day prescriptions

Antibiotics, antivirals, anti-nausea, and pain relief prescribed on the spot, e-sent to any pharmacy in Miami-Dade County so you can fill them right away.

Not your typical walk-in

A walk-in clinic built like a hospital, run like a boutique

Most walk-in clinics are a crowded waiting room and a provider you have never met. TrufaMED is the opposite: hospital-grade accreditation, board-certified physicians, and a calm, private setting that feels nothing like a typical urgent care.

Joint Commission accredited

Florida’s only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care, one of just eight nationwide. It is the same clinical standard major hospitals are held to, applied to a walk-in setting.

A physician leads every shift

A board-certified physician leads every shift and sees you in a private exam room, supported by experienced nurses, so you get hospital-grade judgment without the hospital.

Private, boutique setting

Private exam rooms and a comfortable waiting lounge make the visit feel hospitality-driven, a deliberate contrast to the standard walk-in experience.

Eight languages spoken

Our team speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hebrew, French, Russian, Italian, and more, which matters for the international community and visitors of Miami Beach.

In and out in under an hour

The average visit runs about 45 to 60 minutes from arrival to departure, a fraction of the three to four hours an ER takes for the same level of care.

Most insurance, easy self-pay

We accept Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, and most major plans, with transparent self-pay pricing for uninsured patients and visitors.

Walk-in, ER, or the doctor’s office

Why a walk-in clinic beats both the ER and waiting weeks

For a true emergency, the hospital is the right place. For a routine annual visit, your primary doctor is. A walk-in clinic fills the gap in between: faster and far less expensive than the ER, and immediate when the doctor’s office cannot see you for weeks.

For a true emergency, such as chest pain, stroke symptoms, or difficulty breathing, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room, such as Mount Sinai Medical Center on Alton Road.

When the ER is the right call

Walk-in care is for non-life-threatening conditions, and we will always tell you directly when a hospital is the better choice. The nearest hospital emergency room to the Beach is Mount Sinai Medical Center on Alton Road.

Call 911 for emergencies

For chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms (facial drooping, slurred speech, arm weakness), severe head injury, uncontrolled bleeding, or loss of consciousness, call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room.

What a walk-in visit saves you

An ER visit in Miami-Dade often takes three to five hours and costs thousands after facility fees. A walk-in visit averages 20 to 45 minutes and a fraction of the cost for conditions that do not need emergency resources.

We coordinate either way

If you walk in and need a higher level of care, our physician stabilizes you, calls ahead, and directs you to the right emergency department, so you are never left to figure it out alone.

Accepted insurance

Most major insurance plans accepted

We accept most major commercial plans and Medicare, with transparent self-pay pricing for everyone else. Call (305) 537-6396 to verify your specific coverage before your visit.

Meet the full clinical team

Walk-in clinic questions, answered

What residents, families, and visitors ask most before walking in.

Do I need an appointment, or can I just walk in?

Just walk in. TrufaMED is a true walk-in clinic, so you can arrive any time during open hours with no appointment and no referral. Patients are seen on a first-come basis, and most visits start within minutes of arrival. If you prefer, you can pre-register online at register.trufamed.com to capture your insurance and reason for visit ahead of time and shorten your check-in.

How long does it take to be seen as a walk-in?

Most walk-in patients are seen by a board-certified physician within about five minutes of checking in. The full visit usually runs 20 to 45 minutes from arrival to departure, a fraction of the three to four hours a comparable ER trip would take. Because digital X-ray and the lab are on-site, you typically leave with a diagnosis, a treatment plan, and any prescriptions in a single visit.

Is TrufaMED open right now?

TrufaMED is open seven days a week: Monday to Friday 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday 12 PM to 8 PM. Walk-ins are welcome during all open hours, including evenings and weekends when most clinics on the Beach have already closed. Call (305) 537-6396 to confirm holiday hours.

How far is the walk-in clinic from Miami Beach?

TrufaMED is at 9445 Harding Avenue in Surfside, at the corner of Harding and 95th Street, directly between Miami Beach and Bal Harbour. It is about five minutes from Mid-Beach, three minutes from Bal Harbour Shops, and ten to twelve minutes from South Beach up Collins Avenue or Harding Avenue. Free parking is available directly in front of the clinic.

Can I get an X-ray without an appointment?

Yes. Walk-in digital X-ray is available for extremities (ankles, wrists, hands, feet), chest, ribs, and abdomen, with no referral needed. The physician reviews your images during the visit, usually within about ten minutes, so you get same-day results without booking a separate imaging center.

What can I walk in for at a walk-in clinic?

Walk in for non-emergency illness and injury: fever, flu, strep, sinus and ear infections, urinary tract infections, allergic reactions, sprains, suspected fractures, lacerations that need stitches, rashes, and more. We also handle on-site lab testing, ultrasound, IV therapy, confidential testing, and physicals and forms (sports, school, and pre-employment), all on a same-day basis.

When should I go to the ER instead of a walk-in clinic?

A walk-in clinic is right for non-life-threatening conditions. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room, such as Mount Sinai Medical Center on Alton Road, for chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms (facial drooping, slurred speech, arm weakness), severe head injury, uncontrolled bleeding, loss of consciousness, or severe abdominal pain. TrufaMED is a walk-in clinic, not an emergency department, and our physician will direct you to the right level of care if you need it.

How much does a walk-in visit cost without insurance?

A self-pay physician visit starts at $195, with common add-ons priced up front: digital X-ray, EKG, and rapid strep or flu testing are all shared before treatment begins, so there are no surprise bills. We accept all major credit cards, which makes self-pay practical for visitors, out-of-state guests, and international travelers. Bring documentation requests to the front desk for travel-insurance claims.

What should I bring for a walk-in visit?

Bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, and a list of any current medications. We accept Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Oscar Health (urgent care), Medicare, and most major plans, and self-pay patients are always welcome with transparent pricing. Children should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
