What is IV therapy?
IV therapy is the direct delivery of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and hydration fluids into your bloodstream through a small IV catheter, producing near-100% absorption compared with 20–50% from an oral vitamin drip. At TrufaMED in Surfside, every IV therapy session is physician-led: a board-certified MD approves the order, a licensed provider places the line, and patients choose from 18 formulas including Myers’ Cocktail, NAD+, Immune Boost, and hangover recovery. Sessions run 20–45 minutes in our Joint Commission-accredited Miami clinic or via mobile IV delivered to your home or hotel.
Eighteen medical-grade formulas.
Every drip is a physician-approved formula of USP-grade vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and fluids. All prices shown are in-clinic. Mobile delivery adds $50 to $150 based on priority — call for exact quote. Every in-clinic session includes complimentary red light therapy, with leg compression therapy pants available as an add-on for recovery and circulation. Cancellations require 4 hours’ notice — see policy.
The difference is physician oversight.
Most Miami IV providers are nurse-only operations without medical accreditation. TrufaMED is built on a different foundation — an accredited urgent care clinic where every IV is reviewed by an MD and administered by registered nursing staff.
How IV therapy works.
IV therapy delivers vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and fluids directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system entirely. Absorption is near-complete and effects begin during the infusion itself, not hours later.
Bioavailability — IV vs oral
When you swallow a vitamin, the gut absorbs only 20–50% of the active ingredient. IV infusion delivers USP-grade compounds at close to 100% bioavailability. For patients with absorption issues — post-bariatric surgery, IBD, celiac, chronic dehydration — the difference is not subtle. For healthy patients, onset is measured in minutes rather than hours.
What happens in 30–45 minutes
After a brief nurse consultation and physician sign-off, a licensed provider places a small-gauge catheter (22G or 24G), confirms flow, and starts the drip. You recline in our lounge with complimentary red light therapy. Standard wellness IVs run 20–45 minutes; NAD+ runs 2–4 hours.
Why physician oversight matters
IV therapy is a medical procedure. Allergic reactions, vein complications, electrolyte imbalances, and drug interactions all require physician-level evaluation. At TrufaMED every order is reviewed by a board-certified MD on shift — not a remote telehealth doctor and not a nurse practitioner signing standing orders.
“Oral vitamins absorb at 20–50%. An IV delivers the full dose at close to 100% bioavailability, in under an hour.”
IV therapy benefits in Miami’s climate.
South Florida’s heat, humidity, nightlife, and travel volume create patterns of dehydration and depletion that oral hydration rarely fixes fast enough. Mobile IV therapy delivered to your hotel, condo, or residence restores fluids, electrolytes, and energy in a single visit.
Heat, humidity, and chronic dehydration
Average Miami humidity runs 70–90% for eight months a year. Residents and visitors sweat more, drink coffee and alcohol that accelerate fluid loss, and rarely replace electrolytes at the rate the body consumes them. A Rehydrate or Rehydrate+ IV corrects the deficit in 30 minutes — something eight bottles of water cannot match.
Tourism, travel, and jet lag
Miami International Airport moves 56 million passengers a year. Long flights dehydrate, disrupt circadian rhythm, and suppress immune function. Our mobile IV team delivers Myers’ Cocktail, Immune Boost, and Rehydrate+ drips directly to hotel rooms at the Fontainebleau, Four Seasons Surfside, and St. Regis Bal Harbour.
Nightlife, beach, and weekend recovery
South Beach and Wynwood nightlife are hard on a body already running at a hydration deficit. The Hangover Recovery IV — fluids, Zofran for nausea, Toradol for headache, B-complex, Vitamin C — is the single most-booked drip for locals between Friday and Sunday.
“Miami’s climate makes chronic dehydration nearly universal. A single session resets what a week of water cannot.”
Physician-led IV therapy, not an IV bar.
Some IV services in Miami are run by non-physician staff in non-medical spa settings. At TrufaMED every IV is physician-ordered, licensed provider-administered, and delivered inside Florida’s only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care — one of just eight nationwide.
Every drip is physician-ordered
Board-certified MDs are on shift seven days a week. Every IV order — in-clinic or mobile — is reviewed and approved by a physician before a line is started. That review catches medication interactions, underlying conditions, and dosing issues that a nurse-only or standing-order model will miss.
licensed providers only on the line
No medical assistants, no trainees, no paramedics. Every IV at TrufaMED is started and monitored by a licensed provider with hospital-grade IV technique. On mobile visits, your licensed provider arrives with sterile supplies, a vitals kit, and a sharps container — a medical visit at your door, not a cocktail service.
Joint Commission accreditation
TrufaMED is the only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care in Florida and one of eight accredited urgent cares nationwide. The same standard applied to major hospital systems — covering infection control, medication safety, patient identification, emergency response, and clinical documentation.
“Joint Commission accreditation is the clearest single signal of medical-grade vs spa-grade care.”

Who should consider IV therapy.
IV therapy is a tool, not a cure-all. These are the most common reasons patients book with TrufaMED — every case is evaluated by a physician before the first drop.
Your visit, in four steps.
Board-certified MDs, on site.
Board-certified physician and founder of TrufaMED. Dr. Gedalia built the clinic around physician-led protocols, Joint Commission accreditation, and a standard of care usually reserved for hospital systems. He oversees the IV therapy program and personally approves formulary changes.
Medical Director of TrufaMED and a board-certified physician with extensive emergency and urgent care experience. Dr. Naidoo directs clinical operations, supervises nursing staff, and reviews complex IV therapy cases including iron infusions and NAD+.

IV therapy, answered.
Does IV therapy work?
For hydration, nutrient repletion, and acute symptom relief, IV therapy works because it bypasses the gut and delivers compounds directly into the bloodstream at close to 100% bioavailability. Oral vitamins are typically 20–50% absorbed. Patients with dehydration, migraine, hangover, food poisoning, or vitamin deficiency often feel results during or within an hour of the infusion.
Is IV therapy safe?
At TrufaMED every IV is prescribed by a board-certified physician and placed by a licensed provider in a Joint Commission-accredited clinic. We use USP-grade compounds, sterile technique, and continuous monitoring. The most common side effects are minor bruising at the IV site and a brief vitamin taste during the infusion.
How long does an IV therapy session take?
Standard wellness drips take 20–45 minutes from line placement to removal. NAD+ infusions run 2–4 hours because faster infusion causes discomfort. Mobile visits add roughly ten minutes of setup time at the start of your appointment.
In-clinic vs mobile IV — which is better?
The drip menu, physician oversight, and nursing technique are identical. In-clinic visits cost $50 less and include complimentary red light therapy. Mobile IV brings a licensed provider to your home, hotel, condo, yacht, or office across greater Miami and up to Palm Beach — ideal when you’d rather recover in bed or can’t leave the kids. Mobile fee adds $50 to $150 based on priority.
Do you accept insurance for IV therapy?
IV therapy at TrufaMED is self-pay — we do not bill insurance for IV drips. We accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA, and Apple Pay, and will provide HSA/FSA receipts on request. If a physician evaluation is clinically required alongside your drip (for example for dehydration, migraine, or food poisoning), that separate medical visit may be billable through our urgent care — ask at check-in.
What’s your cancellation policy?
IV therapy appointments reserve dedicated clinical time and resources for your visit. Cancellations or reschedules require at least 4 hours’ notice. A credit card is required on file at booking; cancellations under 4 hours, missed appointments, and no-shows are charged the full service price. If a provider clears you for treatment after clinical evaluation but you decline to proceed, the appointment is considered completed and charged in full. The same policy applies to both in-clinic and mobile IV appointments.
Can I walk in for IV therapy in Miami?
Yes. Walk-ins to our Surfside clinic are welcome 9 AM to 9 PM, seven days a week, and served as availability allows. To guarantee your preferred time we recommend booking online. Mobile IV requires a booking so we can dispatch a licensed provider to your address.
How often can I get IV therapy?
For wellness maintenance most patients book once or twice a month. For acute issues — hangover, food poisoning, migraine, illness recovery — a single session usually resolves symptoms. NAD+ longevity protocols typically start with a short loading series followed by monthly maintenance. Your TrufaMED physician will recommend cadence based on labs and goals.
What’s in a Myers’ Cocktail?
The Myers’ Cocktail is a physician-designed wellness formula: B-complex, B12, Vitamin C, magnesium, and calcium in 1L of saline. Developed in the 1970s by Dr. John Myers in Baltimore, it remains the most-ordered IV in clinics worldwide. TrufaMED’s version is $280 in-clinic, $330 mobile.
How is NAD+ different from other IVs?
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme critical to mitochondrial energy production and DNA repair. Unlike vitamin drips, NAD+ must be infused slowly over 2–4 hours because rapid infusion causes chest tightness and flushing. It is used for cellular energy, cognitive performance, longevity, and addiction recovery protocols. Pricing is $999 in-clinic; mobile pricing adds $50–$150 based on priority.
Is red light therapy really free?
Yes. Every in-clinic IV session at TrufaMED includes a complimentary red light therapy add-on running alongside your drip. Red light therapy supports mitochondrial energy, skin tone, and cellular recovery. It adds no time and no cost to your visit. Mobile IV visits do not include red light therapy.
Can I get IV therapy at my hotel in Miami Beach?
Yes. TrufaMED’s mobile IV service delivers the full 18-drip menu to hotels across Miami Beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour, Sunny Isles, Aventura, Brickell, Downtown Miami, and Coral Gables. Our licensed provider arrives at your suite fully equipped, sets up in ten minutes, runs the drip, monitors vitals, and cleans up. Same-day appointments are routine.
Who administers the IV — doctor, nurse, or paramedic?
A licensed provider (licensed provider) places and monitors every IV at TrufaMED. A board-certified MD reviews and approves every order before the line is started and is on shift every day of the week. We do not use medical assistants, trainees, or paramedics for IV therapy.
