Conditions & Services We Treat

Same-Day Diagnosis for Everything Non-Emergency.

From a sudden fever to a suspected sprain, TrufaMED treats the full range of non-emergency conditions — with a physician, on-site diagnostics, and same-day results.

Limitations of Care

When Urgent Care Is Not the Right Choice.

Transparency builds trust. There are situations where an emergency room or specialist is the appropriate level of care — and we will always tell you directly.

Life-threatening emergenciesFor chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, or uncontrolled bleeding — call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room.
Major surgeriesTrufaMED does not perform inpatient surgery, cardiac procedures, or complex operations. We can refer you to a surgical specialist.
Labor & deliveryWe provide OB/GYN ultrasound imaging but do not deliver babies. Please contact your OB or a hospital labor and delivery unit.
Psychiatric emergenciesFor psychiatric crisis or suicidal ideation, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to an emergency department.
When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead
Urgent care is for non-life-threatening conditions. Call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room if you experience: chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms (facial drooping, slurred speech, arm weakness), severe head injury, uncontrolled bleeding, loss of consciousness, severe abdominal pain, or symptoms of heart attack.
What Is Urgent Care?

Prompt Medical Care, Without the ER.

Urgent care is designed for medical needs that require prompt attention but are not life-threatening. TrufaMED Urgent Care in Surfside treats a wide range of conditions for adults and children, providing timely, physician-led care without the delays or costs of an emergency room visit.

From sudden fevers and infections to sprains, lacerations, and minor injuries, our board-certified physicians deliver same-day diagnosis and treatment in a private, boutique setting. With on-site digital X-ray, full lab testing, ultrasound, and IV therapy, most patients receive a complete diagnosis and treatment plan in a single visit — no referrals, no callbacks, no wasted time.

Understanding Urgent Care

More Than a Walk-In Clinic. Better Than the ER.

Urgent care bridges the gap between your primary care physician and the emergency room. When you are dealing with a sudden illness, minor injury, or unexpected health concern that cannot wait for a scheduled appointment, urgent care provides timely, professional medical attention without the lengthy wait times and high costs associated with hospital emergency departments.

At TrufaMED in Surfside, Florida, our urgent care clinic is designed to treat a wide range of non-life-threatening conditions — from flu symptoms, sprains, and lacerations to UTIs, ear infections, and allergic reactions — all with same-day, walk-in convenience.

What sets TrufaMED apart is our concierge-level approach to urgent care. Unlike traditional walk-in clinics that feel rushed and impersonal, our facility was built to deliver a premium patient experience from check-in to discharge. Our board-certified physicians take the time to listen, diagnose accurately, and explain treatment options in plain language. We offer on-site digital X-ray imaging, rapid lab testing, and point-of-care diagnostics so you can receive answers and treatment during a single visit — no referrals, no callbacks, no wasted time.

Serving Surfside, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, Miami Beach, Sunny Isles Beach, and the greater North Miami Beach area, TrufaMED Urgent Care is open seven days a week with extended evening hours. Whether you are a local resident, a seasonal visitor, or a hotel guest in need of immediate medical attention, our team is here to provide expert care in a clean, modern environment that feels nothing like a typical urgent care center.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the Most Common Patient Questions.

How do I know if I should visit urgent care or the ER?
Visit TrufaMED for non-life-threatening conditions like infections, minor injuries, fevers, UTIs, and dehydration. Go to the ER or call 911 for emergencies like chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe trauma, stroke symptoms, or uncontrolled bleeding.
Do I need an appointment to visit TrufaMED Urgent Care?
No appointment is necessary — walk-ins are always welcome. You can also check in online in advance to reduce your wait time.
What should I bring when visiting TrufaMED?
Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card (if applicable), and a list of any current medications. Children should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Self-pay patients are also welcome.
What are your operating hours?
Monday through Friday 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday 12 PM to 8 PM. Walk-ins are welcome during all open hours.
Does TrufaMED accept insurance?
Yes. We accept most major insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Humana, and more. We also welcome self-pay patients with transparent, upfront pricing. Call (305) 537-6396 to verify your specific plan.
What conditions can TrufaMED treat?
We treat a wide range of non-emergency conditions including colds, flu, infections, allergies, sprains, fractures, lacerations, burns, dehydration, and more. We also provide on-site X-ray, EKG, ultrasound, lab testing, IV therapy, and same-day prescriptions.
How long does a typical urgent care visit take?
Most patients are seen by a physician within five minutes of check-in. The average full visit takes 20 to 45 minutes from arrival to departure — a fraction of the 3 to 5 hours you would spend at the ER for the same care.
How much does an urgent care visit cost without insurance at TrufaMED?
TrufaMED’s self-pay urgent care visit starts at $175 for a physician evaluation. Additional services are flat-priced: digital X-ray is $95, EKG is $75, rapid strep or flu test is $35–$50, COVID PCR is $150. A typical self-pay urgent care visit with 1–2 add-ons runs $200–$350 total — transparent pricing, no surprise billing. See /self-pay-guide/ for the full pricing sheet.
How long is the wait at TrufaMED urgent care?
The average walk-in wait time at TrufaMED is under 4 minutes door-to-doctor, compared to 45 to 90 minutes at chain urgent care clinics and 3 to 6 hours at hospital ERs. Because we limit daily patient volume to protect quality, we rarely run long waits. You can pre-register online at register.trufamed.com to cut your front-desk time even further.
Does TrufaMED do stitches in Surfside?
Yes. TrufaMED urgent care performs in-office laceration repair and suturing for cuts that need stitches, including face, hand, and scalp lacerations. We also handle wound cleaning, tetanus shots, and follow-up suture removal. Walk in or pre-register at register.trufamed.com to be seen by a board-certified physician.
Can urgent care treat a UTI?
Yes. UTI evaluation, in-clinic urinalysis with results within minutes, and same-day antibiotic prescription are all standard at TrufaMED urgent care. We can also test for kidney involvement and rule out more serious causes. No appointment needed.
What is the difference between urgent care and the ER?
Urgent care treats non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries that still need same-day attention — sore throat, flu, UTI, minor lacerations, sprains, fractures, asthma flare-ups, rashes. ERs handle true emergencies — chest pain, stroke symptoms, major trauma, severe bleeding. Urgent care visits typically cost 5–10x less than ER visits for the same condition. Rule of thumb: if you can walk or be driven in, urgent care is usually the right choice.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome 7 days a week during our hours (Mon–Fri 9–9, Sat 11–11, Sun 12–8). You can also pre-register at register.trufamed.com — this captures your insurance, chief complaint, and contact info so you spend less time at the front desk. Most pre-registered walk-ins are seen within 5–10 minutes of arrival.
Can TrufaMED do X-rays and lab tests on-site?
Yes. We have a digital X-ray suite (fractures, dislocations, pneumonia, foreign body) with on-site physician interpretation in about 10 minutes. Our CLIA-certified laboratory runs rapid strep, flu, RSV, COVID, mononucleosis, urinalysis, pregnancy, basic chemistry panels, and CBC on-site. Results for rapid tests are available within 15–30 minutes. This is why most TrufaMED visits finish in under an hour.
What insurance does TrufaMED accept?
TrufaMED accepts most major commercial insurance plans: Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Humana, Oscar Health (urgent care only) Preferred, Beech Street, First Health, Great West, Multiplan, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and many Medicaid plans. We do not accept Tricare. For insurance verification, call (305) 537-6396 before your visit. We are in-network with most major PPO plans.
Who will see me at TrufaMED — a doctor or a physician assistant?
Every urgent care visit at TrufaMED is seen by a board-certified medical doctor (MD). We do not rotate mid-level providers (nurse practitioners or physician assistants) as the primary evaluator the way many chain urgent care clinics do. Our Medical Director is Dr. Shane D. Naidoo (Emergency Medicine), and our Managing Physician is Dr. Uri Gedalia (General Surgeon). Both are board-certified.
Can TrufaMED treat my child?
Yes — TrufaMED provides pediatric urgent care for children ages 6 months and up. We see common childhood conditions: ear infections, strep throat, fever, cough, flu, minor injuries, rashes, pink eye, constipation, UTIs. Our clinic has pediatric-sized equipment, and our physicians are experienced with children. For infants under 6 months, we recommend their pediatrician or the pediatric ER.
Is TrufaMED really the only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care in Florida?
Yes. Joint Commission accreditation is the hospital-grade standard for healthcare safety, infection control, clinical competence, and patient rights. Fewer than 8 urgent care clinics in the entire United States hold it. TrufaMED is the only accredited urgent care clinic in Florida. It is the same accreditation your local hospital holds.
Does TrufaMED offer telehealth?
Yes — we offer physician-led telehealth visits 7 days a week for common conditions that do not need in-person examination: medication refills, cold/flu symptoms, rash assessments, minor UTI, travel consultations, post-visit follow-ups. Book at /telehealth/ or call (305) 537-6396. Telehealth is covered by most insurance plans the same as an in-person visit.
