A calm, physician-led, accredited walk-in for Brickell professionals and families. On-site X-ray, labs, ultrasound, and EKG, plus telehealth for quick issues between meetings.
In Surfside, about 20 to 25 minutes north of Brickell. Open seven days a week.
Joint Commission AccreditedTrufaMED is a physician-led walk-in clinic at 9445 Harding Ave in Surfside, across the bay from Brickell on the barrier-island side, roughly a 20 to 25 minute drive. It is Florida’s only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care, one of just eight in the country. A board-certified physician leads every shift, with on-site digital X-ray, lab testing, ultrasound, and EKG available in a single visit.
Brickell does not lack for medical signage. What it lacks is a quiet, unhurried urgent care where a physician actually examines you and your imaging and labs are read the same visit. That is the trade Brickell residents make when they drive up to Surfside, and it is why many keep coming back. For concerns that do not need an exam, our physician-led telehealth skips the drive entirely. See everything our urgent care does.
For people used to a concierge standard, the difference is the experience and the workup. You are seen by a board-certified physician in a private room, your X-ray and labs are read before you leave, and the whole visit averages about 23 minutes.
The financial district runs on demanding schedules, which is exactly why a quiet, efficient visit matters. Walk in on the way up to the beaches, pre-register from your phone to reserve an arrival slot, or handle a quick concern over telehealth between meetings. Behind every option is an accredited facility with digital X-ray, point-of-care ultrasound, comprehensive lab testing, EKG, and IV therapy under one roof.

The visit is structured to be efficient without being rushed. No assembly-line throughput, no bouncing between rooms, no waiting on a physician who is three patients behind.
Reserve an arrival slot online in about two minutes, and the front desk verifies your insurance and copay before you arrive.
Vitals and a brief nursing intake on arrival, in a quiet waiting area.
A board-certified physician examines you every single visit, sits down, and takes the time the problem actually needs.
Digital X-ray when an injury suggests imaging, labs read in minutes, ultrasound for soft-tissue questions, and IV fluids placed bedside if indicated.
Medications started on-site when needed, and prescriptions sent to your pharmacy before you leave, including pharmacies in downtown Brickell.
Written discharge instructions in every chart, with a direct answer on what to watch for and when to follow up.
Brickell sits on the mainland and TrufaMED is on the barrier island in Surfside, so the trip crosses the bay on one of the causeways. Plan on about 20 to 25 minutes outside of rush hour.
From Brickell City Centre or Mary Brickell Village, take I-95 or Biscayne Boulevard (US-1) north, then cross to the beach on the Julia Tuttle or Broad Causeway, and continue north on Collins Avenue, which becomes Harding Avenue as it enters Surfside. We sit on Harding near 94th Street. Metered street parking is available on Harding and the side streets, and handicap-accessible parking is directly in front of the entrance. For patients arriving from farther away, ride-share drop-off is easiest.
In a hurry and the concern is minor? A telehealth visit from your office or apartment is often the faster choice.
No insurance, or prefer to self-pay? A visit starts at $195 for a board-certified physician evaluation, with add-ons priced up front, so you always know what to expect before you are seen.
Starting prices; final cost depends on the services you need. Telehealth is a flat $125. See the full sheet on our self-pay pricing page.
Most commercial and federal plans are in-network. Our front desk verifies your benefits at check-in and explains your copay and any out-of-pocket expectation before treatment begins.
Plan not listed? Call (305) 537-6396 before you drive up and we will verify your eligibility. See the full list on our insurance page.
Our clinical leadership brings hospital-grade training in surgery and emergency medicine to a boutique walk-in setting. A board-certified physician is involved in every visit.
Dr. Naidoo leads the clinical team as Medical Director. Board-certified in emergency medicine with deep experience in adult and pediatric emergency care, trauma, and critical care, he brings calm, decisive judgment to every visit.
Dr. Gedalia is TrufaMED’s Chief Medical Officer and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Board-certified in general surgery with extensive experience in procedural medicine, wound care, and advanced diagnostics, he oversees clinical protocols across all TrufaMED services.
This physician-led standard is part of why TrufaMED carries Joint Commission accreditation, a distinction held by only about eight urgent care centers in the United States. It is the same independent review major hospitals undergo.
Urgent care handles most non-life-threatening illness and injury. A handful of symptoms belong at an emergency department, and if you are in Brickell, that means a downtown ER.
Chest pain or pressure lasting more than a few minutes, or sudden weakness, facial droop, or slurred speech, needs an ER. Call 911 or go to the nearest downtown emergency department.
Severe shortness of breath, bluish lips, vomiting blood, or uncontrolled bleeding belongs at an ER in any neighborhood. Those symptoms are past what an urgent care can treat.
Head injury with loss of consciousness, or a suspected fracture of the spine, pelvis, or hip, needs emergency imaging and care beyond an urgent care’s scope.
If you are unsure and the situation is not clearly an emergency, start with us. We triage at the door, escalate to the ER when the exam warrants it, and stabilize in the meantime.
The questions Brickell residents and professionals ask most before driving up.
TrufaMED is at 9445 Harding Ave in Surfside, across the bay from Brickell on the barrier-island side. It is roughly a 20 to 25 minute drive depending on traffic, by way of I-95 or Biscayne Boulevard north and then one of the beach causeways. We are not a downtown corner clinic. Brickell professionals choose us when they want a calm, physician-led, accredited walk-in instead of a crowded downtown chain, or when they are already heading up toward the beaches and north Miami-Dade. For quick issues between meetings, our physician-led telehealth often saves the trip entirely.
Three reasons. First, the standard: TrufaMED is the only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care in Florida, one of just eight in the country, the same independent review that hospitals undergo. Second, the experience: private exam rooms, a quiet waiting area, and a board-certified physician who leads every shift. Third, the workup: on-site digital X-ray, labs, ultrasound, and EKG read the same visit, so most patients are in and out in about 23 minutes. For Brickell residents who already value a concierge standard, the visit feels closer to a private practice.
Often, yes. Many common concerns do not need an in-person exam: medication refills, cold and flu symptoms, rash assessments, minor urinary symptoms, and follow-ups. Our physician-led telehealth runs seven days a week and is a flat $125 self-pay visit, which is convenient for a Brickell professional with a packed calendar. If the physician decides you need imaging, labs, or hands-on care, they will tell you directly and arrange your in-person visit.
A self-pay urgent care visit starts at $195 for a board-certified physician evaluation. Common add-ons start from: digital X-ray $320 (physician interpretation included), EKG $110, and a rapid strep or flu test $60. Final cost depends on the services you need, and pricing is shared up front, with no surprise billing. Telehealth is a flat $125. See our self-pay pricing page for the full sheet.
We accept most major commercial and federal plans, including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Oscar Health (urgent care), and Medicare. Our front desk verifies your benefits at check-in and explains your copay before treatment begins. Self-pay patients are always welcome with transparent, upfront pricing. Call (305) 537-6396 to confirm your specific plan before you drive over.
No appointment is needed. Walk in seven days a week during clinic hours, or pre-register online in about two minutes to reserve an arrival slot and cut your front-desk time. The average door-to-doctor wait is short because we cap daily volume to protect quality, and most visits run about 23 minutes from arrival to discharge, longer if you need X-ray plus multiple labs and an IV.
We treat the full range of non-emergency illness and injury: colds and flu, strep, sinus and ear infections, UTIs, allergies, asthma flare-ups, pink eye, rashes, sprains and fractures, lacerations that need stitches, burns, dehydration, and migraines. We also handle sports, school, and immigration physicals, and we e-prescribe to any pharmacy in Miami-Dade.
Yes. We have a digital X-ray suite for fractures, dislocations, and pneumonia, read by a physician in about ten minutes. Our CLIA-certified lab runs rapid strep, flu, RSV, COVID, mono, urinalysis, pregnancy, CBC, and metabolic panels on-site, with results in about 15 to 30 minutes. We also offer point-of-care ultrasound and a 12-lead EKG. Everything is read the same visit, which is why most visits finish quickly.
A board-certified physician leads every shift and is involved in your care, supported by experienced nurses. Our Medical Director is Dr. Shane D. Naidoo (Emergency Medicine) and our Chief Medical Officer is Dr. Uri Gedalia (General Surgery, FACS). This physician-led standard is part of what earned TrufaMED its Joint Commission accreditation.
Yes. We provide pediatric urgent care for children three months and older: ear infections, strep, fever, cough, flu, minor injuries, rashes, pink eye, and UTIs, with pediatric-sized equipment and physicians experienced with children. For infants under three months with concerning symptoms, we evaluate and refer to pediatric emergency care when warranted.
Come to TrufaMED for non-life-threatening problems like infections, minor injuries, fevers, UTIs, sprains, and dehydration. Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 for emergencies such as chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe difficulty breathing, major trauma, or uncontrolled bleeding. If you are in Brickell and the situation is a true emergency, use a downtown emergency department. When the picture is unclear, our physicians triage and escalate to the ER when the findings warrant it.
