A calm, physician-led walk-in worth the drive north. On-site X-ray, labs, and ultrasound under one accredited roof, for the Grove families who would rather skip the crowded retail clinic. Telehealth, too, when you would rather stay home.
About a 30-minute drive from Coconut Grove. Open seven days a week.
Joint Commission AccreditedTrufaMED sits at 9445 Harding Ave in Surfside, up on the barrier island north of Miami Beach. From Coconut Grove that is about 17 miles, roughly a 30-minute drive in normal traffic. So we will not pretend we are around the corner. What we offer is a different kind of visit: a board-certified physician on every shift, a private and unhurried setting, and every diagnostic under one accredited roof. It is the boutique alternative to the chain clinic, and for many Grove residents that is the part worth the drive.
For non-life-threatening needs. For a true emergency, use the nearest emergency room or call 911.
A bayfront village built on independent shops, sailing, and a slower pace tends to prefer the personal option over the corporate one. Here is when the drive, or a telehealth visit, makes sense.
Heading to Bal Harbour Shops, a day at the beach, or up to Aventura? If something comes up while you are in north Miami-Dade, we are the accredited walk-in right there, no trip back south to the Grove first.
Private exam rooms, a calm lounge, and a physician who is not racing a quota. For Grove residents who already choose the independent over the chain, the visit feels like the neighborhood, not a big-box clinic.
X-ray for a sailing or tennis injury, labs for a fever, an ultrasound, an EKG, results read the same visit. No referral across town, no second appointment, no waiting days for a callback.
For refills, a rash, a minor UTI, cold and flu symptoms, or a follow-up, a telehealth visit handles it from your home in the Grove. A flat $125 self-pay, seven days a week.
Snowbirds, travelers, and weekenders make up a real share of our patients. Bring your card if you have one, or self-pay with published pricing and an itemized receipt your insurer can reimburse against.
A board-certified physician leads every shift at a Joint Commission-accredited facility, not a retail kiosk. For an injury or an illness that deserves a proper look, that judgment is the whole point.
Walk in for anything from a sudden fever to a suspected fracture. Each service below is available same-day, with no referral and no appointment, so the drive earns its keep.
Fever, flu, sore throat and strep, sinus and ear infections, UTIs, bronchitis, and stomach bugs, diagnosed and treated under physician oversight with same-visit results.
Sprains, suspected fractures, cuts that need stitches, burns, and musculoskeletal pain. On-site digital X-ray reads in about ten minutes, useful after a fall on the water or the court.
A CLIA-certified lab runs rapid strep, flu, COVID, RSV, CBC, metabolic panels, urinalysis, and pregnancy testing, all read the same visit alongside on-site imaging.
Point-of-care ultrasound for abdominal, pelvic, and soft-tissue questions, plus a 12-lead EKG for cardiac evaluation, available bedside without a referral.
Children six months and up: ear infections, strep, fevers, rashes, minor injuries, and school and sports physicals, in a family-friendly setting with pediatric-sized equipment.
Medical IV hydration for dehydration, migraine, and recovery, plus sports, school, DOT, and immigration physicals completed in a single visit.
TrufaMED is the only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care in Florida, and one of just eight nationwide. The gold seal is the same independent standard major hospital systems are held to: a rigorous review of patient safety, clinical quality, infection control, and medication safety. It is the clearest signal that what you get here meets a hospital-grade bar, and it is not something the nearest chain clinic to the Grove can claim.
Because the Grove is a drive away, we make the visit itself fast and complete. Most patients are in and out in about 23 minutes, with imaging and labs read before they leave.
Fill out the two-minute online form from home in the Grove. Your insurance and reason for visit are in the system before you arrive, so check-in is quick.
Arrive any time during open hours. You are greeted at the front desk, and pre-registered patients are usually roomed within minutes rather than left in a crowded lobby.
A board-certified physician examines you, orders any X-ray, labs, or ultrasound on the spot, and reviews the results with you the same visit, not days later.
Prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy before you go, paperwork is completed, and you head back south to the Grove with a diagnosis and next steps in hand.
We will always tell you directly when another level of care fits better. From the Grove, that often means the closest emergency room, not 30 minutes north to us.
Chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, or uncontrolled bleeding need the nearest emergency room or 911 right away. Do not drive to Surfside for these.
A refill, a quick symptom check, or a minor follow-up rarely justifies an hour round-trip. A telehealth visit from the Grove handles many of these in minutes.
We do not perform inpatient surgery or complex procedures. We can evaluate you and refer you to the right surgical specialist.
We provide OB and GYN ultrasound but do not deliver babies. For a psychiatric crisis or suicidal thoughts, call or text 988 or go to an emergency department.
No insurance? A self-pay visit starts at $195 for a physician evaluation, with add-ons priced up front so you always know the cost before you make the drive.
Starting prices; final cost depends on the services you need. Telehealth is a flat $125. See the full sheet on our insurance and pricing page.
From a sudden fever to a suspected sprain, with a physician, on-site diagnostics, and same-day results.
Our clinical leadership brings hospital-grade training in surgery and emergency medicine to a boutique walk-in setting, the kind of care worth a short drive north.
Dr. Naidoo leads the clinical team as Medical Director, board-certified in emergency medicine with deep experience in adult and pediatric emergency, trauma, and critical care from high-volume emergency departments across the East Coast. He brings calm, decisive judgment to every visit.
Dr. Gedalia is TrufaMED’s Chief Medical Officer and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, board-certified in general surgery with extensive experience in procedural medicine, wound care, and advanced diagnostics. He oversees clinical protocols across all TrufaMED services.
This physician-first approach is why TrufaMED carries Joint Commission accreditation, a distinction held by only eight urgent care centers in the United States. It is the same standard applied to major hospitals.
The questions Grove residents and visitors ask most before making the drive.
TrufaMED is at 9445 Harding Ave in Surfside, on the barrier island north of Miami Beach. From Coconut Grove that is about 17 miles, which is roughly a 30-minute drive in typical Miami traffic, longer at rush hour. We are honest about the distance: we are not the closest clinic to the Grove. Many Grove patients choose us when they are already up near Miami Beach, Bal Harbour, or Aventura, or when they want a calm, physician-led, accredited walk-in worth the drive. For routine concerns that do not need an exam, our telehealth visits reach you anywhere in Florida.
The same reasons people seek out a boutique anything: a board-certified physician leads every shift, the setting is private and unhurried rather than a crowded retail clinic, and the diagnostics are all under one roof. TrufaMED is the only Joint Commission-accredited urgent care in Florida, one of just eight nationwide. For Grove residents who already prefer the village’s independent, personal style over the big chains, that experience travels well. If you only need a quick refill or a symptom check, telehealth saves the trip entirely.
Walk in any time during open hours, seven days a week: Monday to Friday 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday 12 PM to 8 PM. Because the Grove is a drive away, most visitors pre-register online before leaving home so their insurance and reason for visit are already in the system. Pre-registration takes about two minutes and reduces your time at the front desk on arrival.
A self-pay physician visit starts at $195. Common add-ons are priced up front: digital X-ray from $120, EKG from $110, and a rapid strep or flu test from $60. Final cost depends on the services you need, and we share pricing before you are seen, with no surprise billing. Telehealth is a flat $125 self-pay visit.
We accept most major commercial plans, including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Oscar Health (urgent care), Medicare, and Medicare Advantage, along with many Medicaid plans. We do not accept Tricare. Our front desk verifies your benefits and explains any copay before you are seen. Self-pay patients are always welcome with transparent, published pricing. If your plan is not listed, call (305) 537-6396 and we will verify eligibility before you make the drive.
We handle the full range of non-emergency concerns: colds and flu, sore throat and strep, sinus and ear infections, UTIs, allergies and asthma flare-ups, pink eye, rashes, stomach bugs, sprains and suspected fractures, cuts that need stitches, burns, and dehydration. We also do sports, school, DOT, and immigration physicals, and we e-prescribe to any pharmacy in Miami-Dade. For a true emergency, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
Yes, all of it under one roof. Digital X-ray reads in about ten minutes for suspected fractures, pneumonia, and soft-tissue injuries. Our CLIA-certified lab runs rapid strep, flu, COVID, and RSV, plus CBC, metabolic panels, urinalysis, and pregnancy testing, with results the same visit. Point-of-care ultrasound and a 12-lead EKG are available as well. Because everything is read on-site, most visits finish in about 23 minutes door to door.
Yes. We provide pediatric urgent care for children six months and older: fevers, ear infections, strep, cough, flu, stomach bugs, rashes, pink eye, minor injuries, and sports physicals. The clinic has pediatric-sized equipment and physicians experienced with children. For infants under six months with concerning symptoms, we recommend their pediatrician or a pediatric emergency department.
Of course. Visitors, snowbirds, and travelers are a real part of who we see. Bring your insurance card if you have one; many out-of-state plans are processable. Self-pay is straightforward with published pricing, and we can provide an itemized international self-pay receipt that most foreign insurers reimburse against. If you would rather not travel up from the Grove, a telehealth visit can handle many concerns from your hotel or rental.
Go straight to the nearest emergency room or call 911 for chest pain or pressure, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms such as facial droop or slurred speech, severe trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, or a serious allergic reaction. From Coconut Grove, the closest hospital emergency department is the right choice for those, not a drive to Surfside. TrufaMED treats non-life-threatening conditions, and we escalate to the ER from our clinic whenever findings warrant.
